Weight gain tapering off in 3rd tri?? Very interesting...
So today I had my 32 week checkup. Everything is GREAT, my lil dude is healthy as can be (and still breech and kicking me in the lady parts, but it's all good )
Anyway here's what's so strange-I'd love your thoughts on this (I'm guessing it may be normal? )
At my 28 week appointment I was up 39 pounds (in between weeks 26 & 28 I gained 7 lbs and was so inconsolable-especially since I eat so healthy and worked out alot).
At my 30 week appointment (in between weeks 28 & 30) I had gained NOTHING....and that was after Thanksgiving week AND days after my Baby Shower (i.e. indulging more than normal).
So today I had my 32 week, and yes I admit I've had a few more splurge days with the food (and chocolate), but all in all still eating healthy, and..................I've gained NOTHING again Which surprises me because my doctor told me no more gym and to be on the couch resting all the time-I would have thought the huge decrease in activity would result in a big gain..
How weird is that?!?!? I haven't gained anything in my 3rd tri, but gained all through my 1st and 2nd..
It'll be interesting to see what/if I'll gain by my 34 week.
So is this weird? Normal? My BTDT friends have all said there comes a point in the 3rd tri where you stop gaining weight...I just didn't think it would happen so early.
Thoughts??
**edited because I have a severe case of pregnancy brain and can't spell today**

How's your placenta? Fingers crossed that it got a little higher for you!
ETA: I have no idea about the weight gain at all!

Aww thanks so much for asking!
We didn't do a sono today-but I do go back January 4th for a sono at LIJ hospital to check on it. After the sono I have an appointment with my OB (the 34 week checkup).
If it hasn't moved in these next 2 weeks we're going to discuss scheduling a C section.
My OB seems to think there's a good chance of it moving up, and that my breech little boy will turn.
So fingers crossed, but at this point, whatever gets him out as safely as possible for both of us I'm happy with.

I've heard that this can happen. All women gain at different points in their pregnancy. Some right away; some not until later. So yes I think it's completely normal because you gained most of the weight early on!
We sound very alike in weight gain and I too eat healthy and exercise (that is until the low lying placenta). For the record I hope I follow your footsteps and the weight slows down for me too!!!

Re: Weight gain tapering off in 3rd tri?? Very interesting...
actually the same thing happened to me. . I actually lost weight - then gained that back but am about where I was a month ago which is good bc I was on the same weight gain plan as you - which was a lot - fast - and early! so I'm really hoping it does continue to come slow in the 3rd and i will end up closer to where I wanted to be. . of course i still have 2 months left so I doubt I won't gain anything else bc that would be a MIRACLE esp with x-mas, new years etc. .
also. . sometimes when i stop going to the gym I actually lose weight too. . I tend to pack on muscle like a male olympian

I am not sure about the weight gain....my numbers are still going up! Maybe it is just the way your body works...gain a little faster in the beginning and then taper off.
Hoping your placenta moves for your sono appt!

Thanks girls.
I don't expect to NOT gain for the rest of the pregnancy-although I'd be really happy with the weight gain tapering off right where it's at ....
With 7 1/2 weeks left to go, it's not like I'd gain so much more anyway.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I gained most of my weight in the 1st and 2nd trimester. I have tapered completely. The baby is gaining weight and that is all that counts!
