Strange; could this be a sign of teething?
DD is almost 4 months old and these last couple of days is acting strange... like an angry dog Best way I can describe it. You know when a dog gets a hold of a toy, takes a bite and starts shaking his head furiously? Yeah, thats her! I was holding her Saturday and she started going for my shirt and got a hold and started tearing at it! I had fed her an hour prior to that so she wasn't hungry. Then she was doing the same thing yesterday with a stuffed toy too. Also with this, she's been loudly crying randomly for a few minutes, then goes back to normal.
Sounds like teething to you?

Mine is infatuated with sticking stuff in his mouth and gumming it and moving it around. My ped says its the oral phase.

Could be the start of teething or just an oral fixation which my ped said starts at that age too. Hard to tell until you start seeing other signs. I don't think it's abnormal though!

No she's not weird. MY DD is 6 1/2 months and does that like a dog. Still does. She did get 2 bottom teeth at 5 1/2 months. She puts everything into her mouth. Now she shoves soemthing in there, like a burpcloth, and leaves it hanging and uses her hands to do something else.
It sounds to me your dd is goign through oral phase.
Is she drooling ALOT? then it's teething.

omg yes, she drools rediculously!
When she gets her bouts of crying I wanted to try oragel to see if that would make her stop, then I can really assume its teething. Is that ok?

angry dog sounds about right
DS also would scream a loud high pitched scream right before he'd bite something.

It is probably teething as my 13 month old son has been doing that since he cut his two top teeth in November and is in the process of getting 2 more teeth...It is normal. Chomping down on something I think helps to relieve the pain....
