My Dentist visits-quite entertaining
So of all times not to have your phone charged and missing the chance to take a picture or video, this would be one of them. I went to the dentist last night to get my filling fixed that broke. I walk into the waiting room, check in, and sit down across from an approximately 30 year old woman.
After no more than 10 seconds sitting there, this girl starts humming to The Most Wonderful Time of the year on WALK FM.
As she is humming, she starts to 'conduct' the orchestra counting time, raising her hands and lowering them to tell 'the orchestra' to get louder and softer.
She also performed Charlie Brown's Christmas in a whistle, Oh Come All Ye Faithful singing, Noel in a whistle, and Rum Pum Pum Pum singing. At several points during her 'performance', she asked her self "How do band teachers do it?" referring to conducting, and telling herself to "Get back in sync."
But it doesn't end there!!
The commercials where the announcer mentioned "Cindy is off tonight" had the response of "Oh, that's too bad."
She snickered at the Capitol One Bank Commercial with the statement "It's the same as when I left..."
The commercial about organic turkey..."Ewwww"
The Award winning Cabot Cheese commercial-"I do love cheese, thank you!"
And then the random thought when it was quiet "I bet Aunt Barbara will give me a giftcard."
I was writing these things down on a piece of paper, this is how I remember so well. And my reason for that, is well, it kept me from hysterically laughing.
And when it couldn't get any better, it did. A car drove up and its headlights came into the waiting room. They were those headlights where they delay going off. Well, she literally got on the floor and started to do hand shadows on the wall!!!! She got mad when the lights turned off. But when the car left, she got on the floor again to finish her shadow 'story'.
When another man walked in, he sat right next to me. This girl continued, and he looked around probably thinking "Am I on Candid Camera?" 2 minutes later, the man she was with came out, and they left. When she was out of sight, this man who had just sat down, looked at me, I looked at him, and we cracked up so hard.
And of course, I was punished for laughing at this girl, bc I was told that I needed a root canal, so I got that done this afternoon. Although, with the novocaine, and sweet air, I was high as a kite. I swear the dentist danced around the room, the light was swirling, and someone was eating a chicken parm sandwich. Nothing like feeling the munchies after getting a tooth rotor rootered.

right there is where i would have walked out and waited in my car or outside somewhere... i hate whistling...

And I thought it was weird/annoying when the lady next to me on the train was remarking loudly about the costumes from some play in a magazine she was reading. The entire 45 minute train ride!

I hope you don't think I'm making fun of someone who has mental issues. Because that is not my intent. She spoke to the receptionist and the man she was with perfectly normal and coherent.
I think she just genuinely enjoyed her wait.

I think she just genuinely enjoyed her wait.
As someone who has dentist phobia, the idea of this is so foreign to me! I would sit there with a bottle of wine and an ipod   I hattttte going to the dentist!
ETA: actually.. In reality, I'd sit there with my dh asking over and over "he'll be done in like 20 mins, right  !"

She was waiting for someone who was at the dentist. She wasn't waiting to be seen. Maybe that is why she was so happy!
