How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
My son is 3 months and LOVES the swing just as much as being in my arms! I am wondering if I am putting him in it too much. If he isn't in his swing, he is in his vibrating seat, his play mat or my arms. This is our rotation! Tummy time is maybe 5 minutes total a day because he screams. Not many options and unfortunately every option he is on his back pretty much (nervous about flat head syndrome)!!! So... how much time does your DC spend in the swing? Also, what do you do to keep DC occupied throughout the day? DS is becoming more alert and napping less but I feel like at his age there still isn't too much to do. At the moment, his day consists of reading books, listening to music, play mat, tummy time, bouncer seat or swing to nap or while i am doing things. TIA

My DD is 4 months old...She doesn't like her swing so she won't stay there much. I basically either hold her(which everyone yells at me for), put her in her infant seat (where she loves the vibrating mode), or play pen. I feel like she is always flat on her head...she won't do much tummy time either!

she doesnt spend anymore time in her swing. She is 4 months old. I used to let her nap in the swing, but stopped around 2.5 months or so. It is hard finding things to do after each nap. We do playmat, tummy time, exersaucer or try to take a walk.

DD is 4 months old and loves the swing. She will watch the tv and or play with the toys we have attached. take her nap in there. When she wakes up she likes being in her play mat. She likes the tv so when shes playing sometimes she will watch it. We dont hold her as much bc we dont want her to get into a habit of being held all the time.

Neither of my twins like the swing, so they don't really spend any time in it. They do, however, spend a lot of time in their bouncy seats. They use their activity mat, read books, listen to music, and sometimes take walks. Otherwise, they are in their bouncy seats or boppies just hanging out or napping.
eta: I try to do tummy time everyday, but they really don't like it!

I started going to a mommy and me class when DS turned 3 months. It really helped in having something to do with him.

DS is 4 months and naps in his swing during the day. About 3 hours total. Sometime at dinner we will put him in his swing while we eat. He likes his swing.

I have the same rotation as you minus the tummy time, which I can't bring myself to do bc she screams bloody murder.
However, we go out at least once a day and I wear her in my Baby Bjorn for at least 2 hours, so I think that's helped in preventing a flat head!

Re: How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
I think you are doing fine to be honest. Joey hated his swing, I'm jealous. (I'm glad he likes his swing....someone really special bought it for him )
At this point. . .I loved my sling/bjorn to walk around the house doing things I needed to do, laundry, clean, cook (nothing hot obviously don't want to burn your child) but if I was preparing things.
Tummy time- I used the boppy, he loved it. Have you tried that?
I would sometimes put on music *I* liked and danced. Kind of looked crazy, but whatever.
Join stroller strides? Mommy Group? Gymboree? Music class? Check the library to see if they have any infant story time, not that he'll get it but it's a new place for him to be.
I would sometimes put on baby einstein just for something different.

Re: How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
At that age, DS spent at least 2-3 hours in the swing (usually during a nap). He was a huge fan of the swing. When he wasn't in that, he was usually in my arms b/c he wanted to be held all the time.

DD is always in her swing, her high chair or on her mat. She is starting to HATE tummy time, which is frustrating.

We go to tots on track in massapequa. Her prices are very reasonable and she has really worked with him since I wasnt sure if I would be able to do the full 12 weeks since I am unsure if I am returning to work.

Re: How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
My dd would spend her entire day in the swing and with colic there are some days I let her stay in it a lot. She naps in the swing everyday. I feel terrible because I'm so afraid she will get flat head. DD hates tummy time as well screams like a mad woman. I hold her a lot which I know I'm going to pay for later. She likes music so I dance around with her sit her (sort of) with the boppy. She is just starting to look at and hold toys but she still isn';t so sure of them but I give her time with them everyday.

DS doesn't care for the swing, but spends the majority of his awake time in his bouncy seat. I have a very active 21 month old as well so I'm always chasing her, I can't always be holding the baby. He loves the seat anyway.

Re: How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
my ds won't stay with anything more than 20 mins. My arms, swing, bouncy, mat, jumper...you name it! Every 20 mins he wants to be entertained dif. If he liked one thing, I'd totally allow him to hang so I'd get some things done around the house!
ETA: he's turning 4 months in a couple of days.

Re: How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
My DD is 4 months, and sometimes naps in the swing, sometimes just hangs out and watches me play with my older DD, and some days she doesn't go in it at all. We have a similar rotation otherwise though, playmat, exersaucer, bouncy seat, bumbo, repeat!

Re: How much time does your DC (around 3 months) spend in the swing a day?
I was nervous about, asked this question too, but I think as long as they get some tummy time a few times a day, its fine to keep them there. It helps with their digestion and as long as there is some head support they will be fine.
We called the swing, the potty, because DS always made poopie when in the swing.

Thanks Dev! He loves the swing and the bouncer seat that you bought. He can stay in it al day if I let him! Play mat he gets overstimulated after a 20 minute round of the music. SCREAMS with tummy time and it literally is the only thing that takes me a good 15 minutes just to calm him down from even attempting to do it. I have to try the Bjorn/sling again... I tried it a few weeks ago and he wanted nothing to do with it. We dance when I play music and read books. I am just nervous about this whole flat head deal!!!
