I think the ladies on this show are ridiculous, the bickering, fighting amongst themselves, walking off.
They would be perfect for LIF.
Yup, they would fit right in.
You mean they might take a difference of opinion or a different way of doing things and interpret it as a personal insult and respond with a full on character assault??

1. O'Reily was speaking from a CNN poll and its the truth 70% of americans do not want the mosque by ground zero. Did you know they wanted to build a Greek Orthodox Church in the same location but it was voted down?
4. To the person who said they wanted to punch Glenn Beck in the face. Do you know him? Why because he speaks what he believes which if you RESEARCH what he says its true? Ive met Mr.Beck and he is the most humble person Ive met in the media. He is a father and a husband. Would you like it someone wanted to punch your dad or husband in the face because they didnt agree with what they said?
I really don't care what 70% of the country thinks. I live in Manhattan not to far from this site. The community board approved it, meaning the people that live and work in this area don't mind that its being built there. As far as I'm concerned if you don't live here, you don't get a vote. I haven't heard anything about a church. Source?
As for Beck, I have no respect for this man. He is a fear monger, pure and simple. Saying I wanted to punch him was a bit dramatic but I put him in the same camp as O'Reilly. The NY Times magazine did a very interesting profile on Beck last weekend.
not true.... i work in this area and DO mind that it's being built. so you're saying that bc the family member of someone who died that day doesn't live near the site that they shouldn't get a say or opinion in what happens near the place where their loved one died and was never found?
it's not a question of where you live or work, it's a question of what's respectful to put near the site. people would have felt the same way years ago if someone wanted to build a buddhist temple (or something along those lines) at pearl harbor...

I know I am most likely in the minority, but I love Bill and agree with ALOT of what he says. The man is far from stupid.
What I find amusing is the name of this show is "THE VIEW", but it appears to me that it's only THEIR view (with the exception of Hasselback, whom I think is right wing). Why can't they disagree and not shout at him and leave the stage? Immature and unprofessional. Like I said, I know I'm in the minority, but I don't care I'm a conservative Republican -- hate me.
ITA!!!! here here!! well said!!
Thank God I am not alone... I watch his show regularly and because of that, I knew what he meant.
I despise "The View". I loved the fact that he was able to get the cackling hens to walk off their own stage :)

I love Glenn Beck. I have never met him but I believe he is a good person. I was annoyed by the comment of wanting to "punch him in the face" too.

I'm really not sure why you think that the community of Manhattan think the mosque is okay....I don;t believe they ever had a "vote" to decide whether they agreed to it or not....
As for the Greek Orthodox Church.... it was BURNT down the day of 9-11....it actually EXISTED at that site for decades and the land was owned by the church....they are having monetary problems rebuilding it, and you don't see anyone lending a hand or protesting over that, do you?

I don't watch Bill O'reilly, but I happened to catch it the evening after the walkoff just to hear his viewpoint and i agreed with him. I'm sorry - and I don't even agree with a Mosque being built down there - but WWII we did not fight Japanese or German "extemists". We fought their militaries. It wasn't a terrorist action, it was war sanctioned by their governments.
9/11 was not war. It was a group of anti-american terrorists, not sanctioned by any government.. evil, soul-less cowards acting of their own accord and bringing shame and disgrace to their religion.
Distinction should be made.

Ok, so do you say we fought the German/Italian military/government? No, you say we fought the Germans/Italians in WWII even though many of those citizens were opposed to the fighting. Isn't it common knowledge that not all Muslims flew planes into the WTC, but the people that did it were all Muslim?

You cannot compare COUNTRIES going to war with each other - which requires a government to sanction it, fund it, and support it (and most citizens of those nations DID support their country and if they didn't, they left or they were killed) with a extremist members of a RELIGION taking an act amongst themselves, without a government support - I'm not talking citizens, I'm talking leaders of a country.
Most of the savages responsible for 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia. The leaders of that government had very close ties with the Bush administration. Maybe even a few were from Egypt if I recall correctly. I think it's pretty safe to say they absolutely did not come out and say they were in support of the attacks of 9/11...
It's not the same thing, it's not even close. We say we went to war with Germany - a COUNTRY. Our military fought their military. Our country fought their country. The whole, not just a part. The face of Germany/Italy/Japan supported those actions. The 'face' of the Muslim religion does not support what happened on 9/11.
On 9/11, a group of pathetic waste of life individuals murdered innocent people. Different.
I totally understand how you feel about this issue and I'm not discounting that at all - but your analogy is off base and I think it's misunderstandings like this that underline the importance of making distinctions.

you're right, it's common knowledge but your comparison isn't the same - if you say we fought the germans then you'd have to say the iranians or iraqis, etc. were the ones responsible for 9/11 (not the muslims)

I'm sorry, I think they all looked bad. Bill O'Reilly was phrasing it that way just to make a scene and get under people's skins. I fundamentally 100% disagree with him on the issue (and every other issue), I think he is an awful person. However, Joy and Whoopi looked like babies for storming off like that and being unable to handle the situation.

Re: Anyone see Joy and Whoopi storm off on the View today?
I thought the worst part about that was after they came back Joy sat in a different seat and acted like a 5 year old in time out. She had a face on her like a bulldog chewing a wasp and she wouldn't even look at him. She made herself look like a fool.
Whoopi's outfit came pretty close to being the worst thing but Joy's behavior just nudged her out of the top.
