WWYD? When to have birthday party
DD will be 2 in Feb. (4 mths - I know I have some time, but if I don't start planning before the holidays, I will not do anything until Jan.)
I would love to have her party at White Post Farms and I know they do indoor parties at that time of year, BUT I would soooo much rather be able to have it outside (they start going outside the end of March)
Now - I'm pregnant and due at the end of March, so couldn't do it then.
Is it silly to wait for the end of April to have the party?
I know it could still be bad weather, but I guess the chances of not are better.
I was thinking too - that at almost 8 mths pregnant in Feb, having a party around her actual birthday might be exhausting (at least I feel like I could maybe get away with it for this reason lol).
What would you do?
ETA: If we did it in the spring, we'd leave the baby home with one of my parents.

Re: WWYD? When to have birthday party
we went to a 2nd birthday at white post in Feb last year and it was very nice - it was on a saturday mornign and it was not crowded at all - they did a very good job and it was nice to have something to do in the winter - by april there is so much more going on
it was also easy for the host who was also pregnant

Re: WWYD? When to have birthday party
Thanks - and good points. We do also know 4 kids with birthdays in April... so that could be hard
Haha I also just thought - I don't remember what was harder, being 8 mths pregnant or 1 month PP?
I do get nervous about the weather with possible snow storms (this past year we had a blizzard)
Guess I would have to inquire about canceling/rescheduling
ETA: I do however, still love the whole outside setup and feel like the kids could still hang out/run around after the party during the nice weather.

Re: WWYD? When to have birthday party
I would do it on their birthday. My DC bday is Dec. 30 and I'm due March 4th. I'm going to do their party probably in early january.

Re: WWYD? When to have birthday party
8 months pregnant!!!!! I really don't think it will be bad at all and I'm sure everyone will pitch in and help.
EVERYTHING is easier pregnant then with a newborn IMHO.
Plus your DC gets to be the center of attention and not have to "share" the spotlight with everyone fussing over the new baby....
I also don't like the idea of celebrating the birthday so late. Kind of pointless to me doing it so much after the fact. The new baby shouldn't delay DC #1 getting to celebrate their birthday on time - again JMHO
