several times. I am very clumsy. I'm so afraid of doing it while carrying DC - or while pregnant.

We just moved in and upstairs is just our office & guest room so I dont really go up there every day. I chose other b/c you just need to give me time. I will def be taking a tumble any day now. I'm accident prone!

I've gotten down to the second to last step and forgotten I still had one to go and basically just fell into the air. Thank god I caught myself both times -because my landing is small and I could have realllllly hurt myself. I have a fear of falling down the steps too.

We have carpet on them. I thought about changing to wood but it would so slippery I did not do it.
that's what I'm thinking too... keep the carpeting on the stairs. I have actually fallen UP stairs, too, if you can imagine that! I'm such a klutz.

I haven't...yet! I am super clutzy, so I am waiting for the day. We had the hardwoods redone in the entire house 3 years ago, and I've been begging DH to get a runner to go down the stairs so when I fall, or one of our 5 children do, it won't hurt as much. He finally gave in and I just need to find the time to go to the store to pick out the carpeting.

I have, but not a bad fall. And honestly, the last time I remember falling down the stairs was my own fault.
I threw Windex down the stairs to DH rather than walking it down there and the bottle broke. I later stormed down there to argue with DH and slid on the Windex about halfway down the stairs and took the rest of the trip on my asss! DH only said "That's your own fault!" We had a good laugh about it a few days later.

YES i've fallen down and UP!! I'm very clumsy on the steps!!
Even our little puppy has falled going up!
We have hardwood on our steps; no carpeting.

I fell down half a flight. DH had his shoes on the stairs and I didn't have the light on and slipped on them. I only fell down on my butt (not tumbled), but every muscle in my body hurt from tensing up during the fall.
DS got caught in a sweatshirt and tumbled down a full flight, but I guess the sweatshirt padded him and he was fine.

Not yet, but I am always yelling at DH about no horseplay on the stairs LOL It is a big fear of mine, esp now, and esp when i am carrying the laundry basket or the cat!

Yes and once with DD when she was a baby. I actually had to go to physical therapy for my knee because I went down so hard and I was focused on keeping her safe. Thankfully she didn't get hurt!
