I think there is steam coming out of my ears. I AM SO MAD!!!!!!!! (LONG!!)

I am so mad that I am shaking. DO NOT USE DR. Ronald Lewis of Pediatric Orthopaedics of Long Island in Syosset.

Some of you read this on Facebook yesterday, but the saga continues regarding Elizabeth's cast.

Background info: At our last appt we waited 1 hour and 30 minutes to be seen ... then after we went into the exam room and they determined that she needed a cast, they made me go to the atm DURING the appt bc I had to pay cash for the waterproof cast. WHO does that? They would not accept a debit/credit card or check. Literally we left the exam room and I took my almost 3 year old for a walk on Jericho Turnpike to the ATM and then went back into the room. They wouldn't even let me go after the appt. I wound up being there for 3.5 hours total.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth about the lfirst experience.

Yesterday:
I took Elizabeth to get her cast off. As I was walking in the office I thought to myself that I think I screwed up and the appt is really tomorrow (Tuesday). Sure enough, I did screw up. Ok, no biggie, my mess up. I asked if they could squeeze her in and they say no. Ok, fine. We'll come back tomorrow.

But then they said, "but we left you a message that we can't do tomorrow either. The doctor has to do a surgery at 10 (our appt time)"

Ummm...no you didn't leave me a message!!!!!! The nasty receptionist and I go back and forth, yes we did call you, no you didn't, etc.... So I asked her what number did you call? Of course it wasn't the right number. "We'll try to fit you in this week but the physician's assistant is on vacation and he takes the off, it's only the doctor here this week". (#1 - like I give a crap that the doctor actually has to do some work and #2 - you knew the PA was on vacation, why make the effing appt???!!!!)

After that, it went downhill. If you have ever heard the Z100 phone tap of the lady whose cat was supposed to get on a flight, that is what it escalated to. At the end I was raising my voice and saying - THE CAST IS COMING OFF THIS WEEK over and over again. LMAO. All I kept thinking is that Elizabeth has a her 3rd b-day shoot on Friday and Alexandra's Christening on Sunday, I spent a small fortune on the wardrobe and none of it will fit bc of the cast!! LOL. And the poor girl needs it off already!!!!

So the girl is trying to fit me in this week. Then she tells me she can fit me in at 10:15 on Tuesday. I say - that makes no sense, you canceled our 10am appt, but you can do, 10:15am?? She says yes. Ok fine. I calm down a bit and leave.

I just went back to work a couple weeks ago and I have had to leave early a bunch of times already. DH told me he would take her this morning. So, he picks her up at daycare and starts driving to the office . He's not sure where it is, so he calls the office to find out. He told them who he was and that we had a 10:15 appt and what do they say?? WE CALLED YOU TO CANCEL IT!!

Seriously these people are morons!!!!!!! I really don't understand. YOU DID NOT CALL US!! They are just lucky DH never made it to the office and they only had to deal with him on the phone.

We have a new appt on Thursday. I seriously may have have a breakdown if I go there and they cancel it. I don't even know what I will do. I am so upset over this.

I called a couple other orthopedists to ask if they will take off the cast and they won't bc DD is not their patient.

OMG - what the hell is wrong with these people. I would love to see them explain to a little girl that her cast come off the day she thinks it's going to. That is just horrible.

That is BS, I'd be all over them and would be sure my friends and family never used them.

If it were me, I would literally be standing outside the office with a sign "DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE." I would venture to guess that they would make some accomodations for E to get her cast off. Nothing like bad press....................

next time, use Winthrop Pediatric Orthopedists in Garden City. I had to take DS at 5 weeks old. Silly me shows up the wrong day (my fault) but they took me with no problems. They have been a dream to work with

If you like long waiting times, incompetent workers and just an overall bad experience, you are in the right place!!

OMG... I can feel your anger!

Doctor's offices are really awful sometimes. They do this to my DH constantly... change his appointments, cancel them without warning... the best was when his oncologist's secretary asked him "who made this appointment for you?" implying that whoever did it didn't know what they were doing and DH said "you did."

When I was 9 and fractured my foot, my mom took the cast off herself..

that E gets her cast off on Thursday without you screaming at anyone else.

I STILL cannot get over the fact they they make you walk with a 3 YEAR OLD with a BROKEN ARM to get money during the visit that part makes me the most angry. Negligence!

OMG I would have completely lost it on them. I have a feeling they said they could "fit you in " at 10:15 today just to shut you up and make you leave!!!! What complete A-HOLES!!!! I would definitely let whatever doctor referred you to them know this and also the doctor him/herself when you actually get to see him/her!

Oh and I wouldn't leave on Thursday without getting the cast off. What f*ckheads!
