Growing up, I wanted to be: a paramedic

I went to school for: Criminal Justice

Now I am a: Admin Asst selling chocolate machinery & hotel front desk clerk

Nothing is even close

Growing up, I wanted to be: An actress, an astronaut, a doctor, in the FBI, a teacher, a dancer...

I went to school for: Marketing & Finance (Still dont know why)

Now I am a: Financial Analyst at a dead end job that I hate!

I went to school for: accounting

Now I am: in a family business


eta: I forgot - I also wanted to be a researcher for Pop-Up Video. My first major was Communication.

Growing up, I wanted to be: a teacher

I went to school for: Executive Secretarial, followed by Psychology


I was a: Legal Asst. for ABC for a while & an Admin for MLB

Now I am a: teacher :) (& happy as can be)

Growing up, I wanted to be: depended on what year: Archeologist, Theologists and then photographer or a housewife.

I went to school for: Graphic Design

Now I am a: Graphic designer/photographer but i wish i stuck with photography or just went for theology.

Growing up I wanted to be a doctor. I was pre-med in college (biochemistry major). I changed my mind but stuck with the biochem major. I went to law school and became a lawyer

I often think I should have stayed with my original plan!!

When I was a kid, I wanted to work in Carvel Good thing I moved on!

I started college planning to be a teacher, and then I realized that EVERYone else was going for the same thing, and decided it was going to be super hard to find a job. So I switched to psychology, got my degree, and went to grad school to get a masters in social work.

I am now a licensed social worker (currently out of a job!)....I think ultimately I did end up doing what I wanted to do

I also originally wanted to go into teaching. In fact, early childhood education was my first major in community college.

My mom ended up talking me out of it (retired teacher) because of how difficult the job is, as well as how difficult it is to FIND a job.

DH and all his teacher friends think I am DUMB for listening to her though. When I graduated college (late 90's) that was the time when teachers were in high demand.

Not so much these days.

I did end up becoming a social worker and love my job for the most part, but would never recommend anyone becoming a social worker these days! Too hard to find a GOOD job, and too many DIFFICULT problems that we get blamed for that are not our fault!

Growing up, I wanted to be: Marine Biologist (the I realized I hate the Ocean)

I went to school for: Advertising

Now I am a: Point of Purchase Display Coordinator, which is a branch of advertising/marketing/merchandising. I do the creative design for and the ordering of displays for major big box retailers, pharmacies and club warehouse stores.

I went to school for: Business Management with a minor in Finance.

Now I am a: In sales for a small company and a mom.

Growing up, I wanted to be: an actress. I wasn't interested in movies or TV. I just wanted to perform on stage.

I went to school for: English major / Theater minor

Now I am a: personal assistant ( i used to be a publicity assistant & then an event coordinator)

I am currently getting my masters in EDU....

yeah, thats gonna work out well.

What I really want to do is become a SAHM & start my business w/my BFF.

I that this happens b/c I can't be any one else's B*%ch any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up I wanted to be a: teacher, then I changed my mind to lawyer
I went to school for Sociology (but I did it to get a high GPA and get into law school) I never even applied to school or took the LSATS!!
I was a Paralegal (started when I began college and did it for about 10 years)

I am now an assistant to two loan officers

My "Life Plan" was to become a successful attorney and be single forver and live in manhatan and have fun. no husband/no kids.
Married Dh within a year of meeting him and got preggo a year after we got married!

Growing up, I wanted to be: a Veterinarian. Then a writer.

I went to school for: English. Then EMT/Paramedic. Then technical computer school.

Now I am a: Computer geek. That writes a blog. And is involved with animal rescue, writing articles for their newsletter.

I've always believed that there's ways to still be involved with things you've loved since childhood. They just might not be the thing you choose as a career.

I went to school for accounting but went right to a grad degree in teaching.

I currently am an unemployed math/business teacher.

Growing up, I wanted to be: A Veterinarian but after working for a Vet I realized that under no circumstances could I euthanize an animal.

I went to school for: Marketing and Advertising

Now I am a: Media Planner and work in Marketing and Advertising. But what I really would love to be is a SAHM.

I did fulfill my childhood dream and had a great experience. If I knew then what I know now, I would have went to school for photography.

part time employee at the Bucks county courier...but I've spent my career in book publishing until I quit in august to be home more with DS.

Since about 5th grade, I wanted to work in computers, just didn't know exactly what area.

Went to college for Computer Science

Working in various aspects of computers (writing software, IT, technical support, etc) during my career.

I really haven't deviated much since 5th grade....

I went to school for: originally it was for Spanish & Italian but I changed to Psych & Philosophy the night before we had to declare our majors

Now I am an: HR/Personnel Manager for a software company.

Now: i work full time at a title insurance company and a hairdresser on the side.
