Bath Spin-Off

Is a bath ring or one of those inflatable tubs necessary or did anyone go from the infant tub straight to the regular tub??

DS is 7.5 months old and big for his age. He's getting too big for the infant bath tub and we put the infant tub in the regular tub when we give him a bath. We started doing it that way because before we moved, we had no room to do it anywhere else.

I am beginning to think the infant tub is pointless at this point. He has been sitting unassisted for a long time. Can I just bathe him in the regular tub?

Re: Bath Spin-Off

we went right from the infant tub to our tub. It was perfect. Honestly, I know some may find those things neccessary (visors, inflatables, rings, etc) but I didn't use any of this. Plus, once Liam got in the big tub, HE LOVES bathtime. Now he is swimming in it.

Re: Bath Spin-Off

actually just bought the loooong bathmat with a little cushion at BRU for $15. So he doesn't slip and honestly..so my tub doesn't have to be sparkling clean every other day!! KWIM?.Chat Icon

DD1- straight from infant bath to regular tub around 7 months. DD2 went to the bath seat in between (around 6.5 mths), but only because I bathe them both together and couldn't keep my hands on her as much. But now (at 8.5 mths) she wont stay in there, so it's a bit challenging...

Re: Bath Spin-Off

We just started putting DD in the big tub with DS (she's just over 6 months).

She sits pretty well, and as long as the water is nice and shallow, she doesn't float too much Chat Icon

We went right from the infant tub to the regular bath with nothing in between. I just made sure I kept one hand on DS or inches from him for a long time while in the tub.

Re: Bath Spin-Off

We had DS infant bath in the regular tub for some time. Then around...9-10 months? can't remember - we just started putting him directly in the regular tub.

First few times he was a little slippery but then he was fine.

I went from infant tub to kitchen sink around that age. The big tub felt too big at that point. I swear that was the easiest place to bathe him and I still miss it Chat Icon

Re: Bath Spin-Off

With DD we did. She started screaming every time we gave her a bath - she was probably way too big for the infant tub anyway so we took her out and just put her in the regular tub and she was fine. Never had an issue.

DS is only 3 months but he barely fits in the tub (he's such a MOOSE!). I'm going to have to make a change soon..

It's funny you say that because DS always has loved bathtime. He's super relaxed and could care less if water gets in his eyes, ears, etc. I've never needed to use anything - though he enjoys playing with a bath toy! That's why I was leaning towards the regular tub.
