Those who have toddlers who take long naps...

*Disclaimer, I am in no way complaining Chat Icon

DS has been taking 3-4 hour naps pretty frequently. Some days as short as 2 hours, but generally he goes at least 3. He usually is down by 12:30 or 1, but then he will sleep until 4 or 5. What time do you put them to bed? Do you go based on when they woke up or do you always have a consistent bedtime? I have been putting him down later if he naps late (like 8 or 9), but I didn't know if it would be better for him to have a more consistent bedtime (and then maybe his naps wouldn't need to be as long?). He is usually up by 6:30 or 7am and going to bed later doesn't change that.

Sydnie sleeps about 3 hours most days. Even if she wakes up after 6, she still goes to bed at her normal bedtime around 8:30 give or take 15 minutes.

My DCs dont take long naps all the time, but even when they do I still put then down at their normal time (I see naps as a catch up time since no matter what time they go to bed my Dcs never sleep past their normal wakeup time). So on occasion they will sleep until 5-5:30, dinner bath and then to bed by 7:30 at the latest.

no matter what time DS sleeps until, he goes to bed around 7:30. He takes naps between 2 and 5 hours long-just depends on the day.

Kaydyn sleeps between 2-3 hours generally. She goes in around 1pm and wakes up between 3-4pm....sometimes a little later.

We put her to bed around 8:30pm. She is 2.5yo.

ds sleeps about 2-3 hours. goes down around 1 and will sleep until 3-4 PM. he goes to bed pretty late, around 930-945PM and wakes at 745-8 AM. He should go to bed earlier but right now I prefer the long after noon nap since I have a 3 month old. I managed to get them on teh same nap schedule most days of the week so I dont want to change anything right now.

My DD is 2 and she is up every day at 7:30-8am, she goes to bed every night at exactly 8pm, and she takes a 3hr. nap every day from about noon to 3.....sometimes 3:30. I never let her sleep past 3:30 because I don't want her bedtime routine to be screwed up. She's had this schedule for months and months.

DD sleeps at least 13 hours most nights - usually 8pm to 9am (slightly earlier on school days). She usually naps 12:30-1ish and can nap 2.5-3 hours. Even if she does nap later, I never change her bedtime.

DS will take a 2-3 hour nap. If he goes down on the later side and therefore wakes later (closer to bedtime) we try to take him to the nearby playground to run him around for an hour or two. He builds up an appetite...devours his food, takes a bath and is back in bed without a problem.

Re: Those who have toddlers who take long naps...

DS takes 2-4 hour naps. I try to make sure DS can get at least an 10 1/2-11 hour night sleep, regardless. So if he takes a late nap, we wake him up by 6 to eat, play (to tire him out), eat again and into bed by 8:30. Normally we try to get him in bed by 7:30/8. Granted it doesn't always work and he's noisy for a bit, but he eventually does go to sleep
