Talk to me about having a 3rd child
Is it a harder to go from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3? Sometimes I think it would be nice to try for another one and then other days I think I'm out of my mind to even think I could handle another one. Please share the good, bad and ugly. My DD's are 3 1/2 and almost 2.

2-3 for me was not a change at all but I think it's because I never had 1 to begin with

from 2-3 was harder for me. It may have been because my 1st 2 are almost 7 years apart.

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
We just decided to start trying for a third... we are excited but also wondering if we are out of our minds!
My first two are 16 months apart. If were were even able to conceive right away there would be at least a three year age difference between #2 and #3- that has to be easier right?

We are 90% sure we are trying for the third. I am 150% sure that we are out of our minds
I think, just like anything else, you just learn how to make it work. You juggle schedules, you laugh, you cry, you scream. It has to work somehow. The only saving grace for me is to think that both boys will be in school a few hours each day (Jack goes 3 days a week for 2.5 hours now and next September Tyler will go to the 2 year old program probably 2 or 3 days a week)
Hell, I didn't get a minivan for nothing

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
We're 100% sure we're going to try for a 3rd but I seriously think I must be crazy. Who knows if it will even happen, DD #1 was conceived thru infertility treatments and DD #2 was a surprise. They're 18 months apart and it was/is tough with them close in age. Haley (my oldest) just started school 3 days a week for 2.5 hrs and Emma will be going next Sept. If all works according to plan Haley would be 4 1/2 and Emma would be 3 when a new baby would arrive. Sounds like it could get easier, right?
Oh and we just bought a mini van too and it wasn't because my life long dream was to drive one

I love the age difference of my boys right now (27 months) so I would like the next baby to be in that range - which means I would have to start trying around Feb/Mar and THAT scares the living daylights out of me

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
2-3 was very hard for me . I also think it was the age gaps between my kids 9 and 4 at the time. Once I got a routine down , it was easier( I had 2 in school and a newborn) . I would never change a thing...in fact I am trying for #4 now

I'll let you know in November!
Going 1 to 2 was easy for us, we'll have to see how going from 2 to 3 is?
Mine are older, 6.5 yrs and 4 yrs old so maybe that's a good thing!

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
When my 3rd was born I had an almost 3 1/2 year old and an almost 2 year old. I defintely think it was easier going from 2 to 3. My 2nd was colic and my 3rd is an angel, which definetly made a difference. I think she has no choice in the matter, she has to go with the flow and learn to fend for herslef many times, lol. At times it is very stressful but we all survive. It is defintley do able, in fact it wasnt such a big deal that we also got a puppy when my 3rd was 3 months old. The puppy is and was actually more work then my daughter.

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
For me it was much harder going from 1 to 2 then 2 to 3. My older two girls were 5 and 2 1/2 when my ds was born (all about two and half yrs apart). They would entertain each other and wanted to help with the baby.

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
My children have a pretty big age difference. Nick is 9, Becky is 4, and Julie is 16 months. That being said, it was SOOOOO hard going from 2 to 3, and totally no problem for me going from 1 to 2.
From one angle, I'm sure that the age difference made a huge difference. DS was in kindegarten when I had DD1, so for 7 hours a day, I only had the baby. When DD2 was born, i had 2 kids at home, plus DS had a more demanding schedule.
From the other angle, though, I had a traumatic csection, PPD, and my DH (in his INFINITE wisdom ) brought home an abandoned puppy when the baby was 2 months old. So there were extenuating circumstances!!
I think it is just very tough with 3. You have two hands, two parents, etc.... when you have 3, you and DH can't play man-to-man defense anymore!!!!

Re: Talk to me about having a 3rd child
Had more of a problem going from 1-2. 2-3 was a cake walk especially since they were close in age
