dh trapped in queens, has to sleep in his car
not a hotel room to be had, traffic is not moving, there's a METS game that will let out, and dh can't get home and has nowhere to go so he's sleeping in his car tonght in front of his job!! there's nowhere to sleep inside his job it's a workshop

since he's out front at the job he probably wont! He said it's just as well, he probably wouldnt be able to drive in tomorrow anyway with the look of things in Queens!

he's so exhausted he's not budging, he's been awake since 5am, trying to drive home for hours, he's giving up.

I'm sorry to hear that! I live off Queens Blvd but have yet to go outside (I was home when the storm hit) I can only imagine how horrible it is to be stuck in Queens and what the commute is going to look like tomorrow.

It is rough out there. It took us 3 hours from manhattan to the grand central - we ended up turning around and coming back to the city.

That's what my sister said. I talked to her around 10 and she said that 69th place which is about 2 miles long was bumper to bumper when it usually has minimal traffic.

closing down QB is really major. A friend saw windows being blown out and food vendors topple over. someone else I know was knocked to the ground and hit with a flying branch.
If I had gone to the gym after work I would have been outside when it hit. But something clicked within me that said nah not today, I should get home before it rains.
Make sure your DH locks his car doors, not to scare you but I have a feeling that people may try to go looting, if it really is that bad.

it just took me 5 hours to get home from manhattan. two of which were from woodhaven blvd to my house (western nassau practically on the queens line)
