oh man, I have no idea but I'm sorry you are going through this. PT is the hardest thing I've had to do in a LONG time with him. I think it's much worse than CIO (maybe I'm just heartless but that's a few nights of crying and this is ongoing torture)

Could there be any reason he is regressing? Is there anything new going on around home?

I have no clue...I keep asking...no one seems to know or see anything different?? It just came out of the blue and once it did ...boom.

What does he do when he has an accident?

I would probably go back to the basics with Potty Training and ask him every 30-45 minutes to go on the toilet.

PT is a nightmare!Chat Icon

he hides, tells me he is sorry, feels really bad. I say you have to go on the potty Noah and he says I know Mommy, I'm sorry, next time I will. Next time..., and he seems scared Iw ill yell at hoim. I dont, I make him help me clean it up every time.

I dont know HOW to convince him to poop on it. I feel like he never will. Cant I just say screw it till he is 4? LOL ( although I am semi serious?!?!)

Jack won't poop on the potty either. Tomorrow I'm really going to watch him around the time he normally goes and try to catch him. I hope that once he does it once, he will do it again (although he pooped on the toilet randomly months ago and that didn't do anything for him)

Keep us posted. I know how hard it is with one baby, I can't imagine doing this with two.

I am there with you. We are training DD and this is a nightmare. Chat Icon

DS was a late trainer at 4 when he was truly ready. He was pee trained in 2 days but poop was another story.

Does your DS give you any warning in advance that he has to poop? My DS's problem was that he was scared to let his poop into the potty.. he would literally hold it in. So what I had to do was literally MAKE him sit on the potty and poop. He would say he had to go, I would scoop him up and sit him on the potty and wouldn't let him go until it came out. It may sound extreme but a lot of kids are afraid of that aspect of it. After 2-3 times, he got it and that was it.

It's very easy to give up. But if you decide to just give it a break for now, that isn't bad either. Maybe he just isn't ready? I dont know, its just the hardest thing and I hate it. Sorry and hang in there!!Chat Icon

Re: I flipping Hate Potty training

if he is peeing all over the place..i think he is with holding his poop...doesn't want to pee in bathroom, poop might come out while he is in there.

that was josh. pee trained no problem. only wet his pants months later when holding in his poop.

the only way this kid poops is to not sit on toliet. he stands and bends down, squats...for a year now. Chat Icon i don't know if you want to try that. he was scared of falling in.

Re: I flipping Hate Potty training

We resorted to prizes if she poops on the potty and not in her underwear.
We told her if she didn't poop in her underwear, but instead went in the potty for 4 days, she would get a Cinderella Pez dispenser. And then we hung the pez dispenser on the refrigerator so she could see it, to reming her. Every day she went on the potty, we'd remind her "only 3 more days", etc.
Worked like a charm.

Re: I flipping Hate Potty training

lots of hugs...sammie had a slight step back too for a bit when she was new to it...all of a sudden she was afraid of toilets other than the one at home (she knew to as but would be all ready and then stop...and she was a girl, so double ack!)...she'd ask to go and then freeze up...i remember her literally peeeeeeiiing all over the floor at a burger king once, like EVERYWHERE and all over her clothes and shoes Chat Icon , of course it was winter so i will never forget cracking up as I carried her to the car with mike in tow and Sammie repeatedly saying "Mommy, I am cold, I have no pants or shoes" Chat Icon - of course she has no underwear or anything other than a jacket and shirt at the time eitherChat Icon , but this might be one of those "had to be there to crack up" stories!

sending you positive potty vibes and hoping Noah is a pooping pro in no time...have him come over, Sammie will proudly demonstrate how to do it and best of all at the end show him "how big it is" (as she does to us everyday!Chat Icon )
