Pediatrician at hospital?
Does the pediatrician come to the hospital when you are in labor and/or during recovery? Or do you just make an appointment after you give birth to bring your LO to their office? How soon after birth? So clueless....

if the pediatrician is affiliated with the hospital they will come and check on the baby, if not the hospital pediatrician will check on your LO. For me with DD, my pediatrician wasnt affiliated so I know 2 days later or so I brought her in to see him..not sure if i would have had to if he was..hope that helps a little.

I agree in my case my ped was participating with the hospital so he checked DS in the hospital. But I did have to bring him in 2-3 days after just do a weight check ect.

My ped said that he will come once the baby is born and everyday after that we are in the hospital.

My pediatrician came the day I delivered to check on the baby then again to discharge the baby...I went to the office for the first visit 5 days later..

There are about 7 doctors in the practice we use. At least ONE of them does rounds everyday in both hospitals they are affiliated with so ONE of them will see the baby. As it stands right now, they all have seen Abby at one time or another and they all know her medical history very well.

My ped had privliges at the hospital so she was there the day the baby was born and every day until we were released. My DD needed to be looked at as soon as she was born so the ped from the NICU was available to check her out for us until our ped got there.

Mine comes in the morning so I had my son at 10:40, they were there the next morning around 8.

My ped didn't have rights to the hospital I delivered at. So I just used the on call ped until we were released. We were released on a Saturday and had our first peds appt that Monday.
