Yeah!!!
DH does not fly, so when we all go to Florida we drive. I love it and DD has been awesome every time we have done it. She has gone from six months til two and been good every time. We just have to make some stops to let her stretch and stuff, otherwise she is good. The DVD player is our best friend. I also love the drive because that it super quality family time. We are always talking to DD, she loves pointing stuff out on the road...last time she has to point out every truck we passed (on I95 that is a lot). We have the best time. Its like a vacation in a vacation. We plan stops along the way, South of the Border, Little parks along the way, stuff to stretch. We make it a two day trip and its great.
As for the plane....DD has been good on it when just her and I go, but for me it is so crazy between all the security, taking shoes off, last time they opened her sippy cup and started performing tests on it, just getting everything organized, drives me crazy.
I honestly think its more relaxing to drive (as long as they are kept occupied).

Without a doubt FLY. The pain and torture could be over with in 2.5 hours. We got a pretty good deal on airfare for Sept thru SW.Keep checking the flight prices online and maybe you will get low airfare.

okay Donna...seeing as how you are going with friends..... why not see if anyone would be willing to take the SAME flight as you - and help out if at all possible!
if it would make life easier for you - we could do that....but we're only staying for 7 days...not the 10 you planned to do....so you would be covered on the way there!

I could never do that drive myself so I wouldn't dream of it. We've gone in Jan 2009 with just Victoria and then in Jan & Feb 2010 with both girls. Each time the 4 of us sat together on the plane. Victoria did really well watching her DVD's with her portable player on the flight. We also bought her some new things to do on the plane so there was new interest (painting pens were a big hit, Cars aqua doodle was another). Julianne was great on the flights as well with some of her toys, bottles and snacks for them both.
We've never had a problem with delays due to weather (thankfully). I actually perfer walking around the airport if the weather is bad than being on the roads if there is snow or ice. But that is just me.
We are thinking of going next year and I thought about driving. But if I can get airfare for $79 or $89 we are flying!
And if Jess is on your plane, pass one of the kids to her and take a break!

Totally not the answer to your question, but Disney tickets increase in price tomorrow, so if you are pretty sure you are going, you could buy your tickets now and save some money!
To answer your question, I would fly, but that is because I can't imagine my kids in the car for that long...going to my MILs house yesterday my DD asked when we would be there about 6 times and she lives less than 3 miles away!
I"m not a parent so I can't really comment, but this is hysterical!!!

WOW!! That's a tough decision to make but I would fly to Disney. It might cost you a few extra $$ but it will save you time, patience and your sanity. That is a long drive to make with three small children.

I kept checking SW flights. I like jet blue but couldn't get used to the idea of going through all the trouble. McArthur is 5 minutes from my house.......
so every night I'd look. We got an okay price- nothing to do cartwheels over. We got $79 there and low $100's coming back. If we had to drive I wouldn't go at all but like I said 2 out of 4 of my kids are not good car riders.
can't wait for Disney!!! Lord give me strength...

I drive 3 times a year with my daughter, she is so much more comfortable in the car then she was the 2 times we chose to fly. I recommend driving, leave at their bed tme so they sleep in the car, my dd usually sleeps until we get to north carolina.

Just an FYI, you can only have 4 people in one row on SW flights(so only one lap child if the row is full). I didn't realize this until last year and it's because they only have 4 oxygen masks per row.
