what activities do u do w/a 4 month old

it seems like DD gets bored of the stuff we do so im looking for some new ideas.

here's what i have:
tummy time
rolling/standing/sitting etc
playing on the mat
talking (or reading a book)
playing w/the mobile
bouncy or exersaucer

and for those that use the bumbo do u just sit DC in there? I put on the tray and put some toys on there but she doesnt last too long.

thanks

Sounds like you are on the right track. I also starting giving DD some toys that made noise like the Learning Puppy and Sophie.

I also take DD in the pool and for walks, which she loves.

I started taking her to a free class at that library around that time and to play dates with my friends' kids who are all older. While she didn't play - it was an opportunity (for both of us!) to get out and see socialization in progress.

ditto!

bumbo was good at the beginning of 4 months, now its old news. He's not at all interested in sitting anymore, he wants to stand. He also seems too tall for it, like he leans to the side in it.

we are almost 5m, but I hope these ideas help

I do a lot of wacky things like dance around him with different color scarfs or towels, singing "I have a red one I have a red one"

Peekaboo goes over really well lately, I hide myself with the above mentioned scarfs

Whispering from behind/below him and letting him try to track where I'm coming from. He thinks it hilarious. I whisper "I'm coming, I'm coming to get you, I'm coming to kiss you" then kiss him and I get the biggest belly laughs.

Board books, I don't know why or how, but he's is quiet and watches intently for me to turn the page. I hold it up for him and watch his eyes repeating the words for whatever he's looking at. We have one called colors I can "read" 3 times before he gets bored.

We play up and down. I hold him and say "up up" then turn on the light, and hold him up high to stare at it. Then I say down down, and bring his down so that his toes touch the ground.

We make faces in the mirror, stick our tongue out, etc. I've been doing this with him almost every day since 2m. He's can just almost copy me. I heard somewhere it helps with them to develop speech.

Play music and dance cheek to cheek.
Our favorite at the moment is Laurie Berkner Band.

Walks in the stroller, we go to the beach or park and watch kids ride bikes. Talk about trees, leaves, and anything he's interested in.

DS loves baths, on hot sleepy days, I fill up the bath with just water and his sits there and just kicks and splashes water. He loves it.

We are just starting to use the jumperoo, DS didn't get it at first, and wasn't at all comfy in it, but with the hugga bebe someone recommended, he got in there and started tapping. Tapped his little heart out and passed out and went to sleep in it. DH and I were watching him and like omg he's falling asleep?

Here is a link to some more ideas someone posted, I forgot who it was, but I'm grateful, great ideas there:

I did just about everything listed above...the PPs said it all perfectly. LOL. Now that my DS is 6 months he's sooo much more interrested in toys... crawlling, touching new things...etc etc. But at 4 months when he seemed boared, I'd go for a walk. If it wasn't nice out I'd even go to the store to walk him around some. I also got one of those pools that are 8 feet round... so I go in wiht him and he tries to kick his feet. You'll be surprised how much they change in only 2 months! Enjoy it while you can...she's still not mobile! LOL

Sounds like the right stuff. I used to dance around with him (still do), sing a lot of songs with hand motions - like Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, and Wheels on the Bus - he loved the itneraction, I'd move his hands too. I gave him a tupperware container and helped him hit it as if it was a drum.

And believe it or not, he used to love watching me in the kitchen. I'd sit him in the bouncy and talk to him while I unloaded the dishwasher or got dinner ready, and he'd watch and listen to me tell him what I was doing.
