spitting up beginning at 2.5 months?
what gives? over the past 3-4 days, DS has started spitting up a lot after bottles. he very rarely used to spit up, now after every bottle and 3 hours later when i pick him up?
can they show signs of reflux late? He has also been back and forth with not eating so well (some days be takes 28 ounces, days like today, he took 12!) He is also fussier than normal the past few days Maybe the heat? Maybe reflux or a bug? No fever, no diarrhea, normal sleeping patterns.

Re: spitting up beginning at 2.5 months?
I actually was just reading about this at kellymom.com, they say: * Spitting up usually occurs right after baby eats, but it may also occur 1-2 hours after a feeding. * Spitting up usually peaks at 2-4 months. * Many babies outgrow spitting up by 7-8 months (YAY!!) * Most babies have stopped spitting up by 12 months.
So it looks like your ds is in the peak time frame?? That's all I can think of, my guy is right behind yours and I have noticed an increase as well but he is b-fed (don't know if makes difference).
Not sure about the fussiness but I think this weather makes us ALL fussy!!

Re: spitting up beginning at 2.5 months?
DS #1 starting spitting up around 3 months old. The doc said that when they start to take larger volumes of formula/BM per feeding, they are more likely to spit up.
I found that adding rice to his bottles reducing it a lot- maybe because it weighed it down?
BTW- my baby is also inconsistent with how much food he takes in. He just turned 3 months last week. Many times he won't finish a bottle. I always offer the same amount (6 ounces) but he will take anywhere from 3- 6 oz a feeding.

i think last night was just a VERY off night for him. he took 4 ounce at 7 and then fell asleep at 8. He NEVER woke for his last bottle. He slept until 630! Then woke to eat and then back down till 930. Maybe he was just exhausted and needed that sleep I hope today is better for him!

This totally happened to me. All of a sudden, DD started spitting up! I don't think it was reflux though. She is almost four months and it definitely slowed down though it still happens.
