We stayed at the Riverside Hotel. There were quite a few restaurants and shops all within walking distance.

I have stayed several times at the Hyatt Pier 66- they have a great restaurant Grill 66 I think it is called right on the water. Nice pool and we get a tower room - and you can watch the ships pull in early on the morning you leave. There is a water taxi stop at the hotel too if you want that.
My parents have stayed at the Renaissance port everglades - and liked it.
We stayed 2 nights post cruise one year at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood and it was actually only about a 5-10 min taxi ride - and a GREAT hotel. In addition to the hotel, casino and restaurants IN the hotel - there is a large entertainment complex - with restaurants, comedy clubs, bars etc attached to the hotel - I don't know if it is still there but we ate at a place called Tatu that was really great and fun. The taxi from the port wasn't that much - if you want to consider staying there.

We actually stayed in hollywood, FL as well & loved it! We stayed at the westin The hotel was amazing, great pools! We went to a yummy restaraunt that put on a show mai-kai

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL... Its like 20 minutes away from the Port, and it was fantastic. Tons of fun. Check it out.

we ended up going with Sheraton Beach reesort Ft.Lauderdale...$97 a night and it llook gorgeoussss!!!!!! right on beach
