If you want to sip some water just make sure they don't see you. The tech saw me and called me out in front of the whole waiting room! She threatened to cancel my test- and I swear I wuold have called my Dr right then and there if she tried to pull that!
The tech who drew my blood told me not to worry abuot it- that a few sips would never affect it and that the other woman was just a royal beyotch!
For my one hour, three hour, and all of my weekly glucose tests I have been told I can drink water. It is really dangerous to not be drinking for that long when you are pregnant. You can't eat anything, but they told me I could drink water. I actually drink a ton of water each morning before my tests and I think it helps with my numbers.

I didn't fast. I did my test at 1 pm. That morning around 8, I had a bagel with cream cheese. I failed by a few points. Not sure if there is a correlation, but I will be fasting this time for sure. I hated the 3 hour test and I want to make sure I do everything to avoid it. You have to wait until you're completely done with the testing before you can eat or drink anything else.

Don't eat between blood draws. That will only increase your blood sugar and they don't allow it anyway. No water either, I was told.
