10 week old not napping. Need advice.
The past week, Olivia has NOT napped for longer than 15 min. at a time. She has BAGS under her eyes. She's tired during the day and she just refuses to nap. Cries and cries. Tried the swing, the boppy, the pack n play, her crib. NOWHERE!
What else can I do?!
ETA at night she sleeps fine (7PM-4AM) (well, besides last night but that was a poop issue)

No fever, no signs of being sick.
What are other signs of reflux?

Sometimes there are non. But some would be spitting up from mouth or nose, congestion after eating, grunting, cryong when laid down or not upright
Here are some from a website:
Some common symptoms of uncomplicated reflux can include: constant or sudden crying or colic like symptoms
irritability and pain
poor sleep habits typically with frequent waking
arching their necks and back during or after eating
spitting-up or vomiting
wet burp or frequent hiccups
frequent ear infections or sinus congestion
Your child does not need to exhibit all of these symptoms, in fact, only having one of the above could mean they have reflux. It does not; however, mean they need treatment. If your child is showing one or more of the above symptoms but is otherwise happy and healthy then some simple lifestyle modifications will likely make life better until they outgrow it.

Re: 10 week old not napping. Need advice.
I have had this issue with my 12 week old. I tried doing some things the past few weeks which help a LOT and now I get two good naps a day.
-White noise machine for room -Swaddling tightly with Miracle Blanket (at night he sleeps without one, but seems to need it for his naps) -Trying to put him down for a nap once he has been up for 2 hours (sometimes earlier if he shows signs of being tired).
He naps in his swing, but the motion is off. Don't want him to sleep only while moving.
Hope this helps. Once they get overtired it is so hard to get them sleeping
I agree with checking for signs of reflux too. My older DS had this and could only sleep reclined for his first 4 months of life. He slept in his carseat or bouncy seat. I also had him on Prevacid.

Try gripe water
If she's just overtired, it will calm her for a few seconds and probably help her settle down. If its more serious, she will probably calm down for a few seconds anyway
Also I made DS chamomile fennel tea with sugar, as per my peds recomendations, and it always calmed DS down, whether it was gas, shots, or whatever.

Thanks for all the recommendations ladies. What would I do without this board?
I might try swaddling her. She doesn't need it at night, but maybe just for her naps. The gripe water seems like a good trick also...do I have to call the ped first?

I call the ped for everything, I call them more than my mother. With that said, a normal person probably wouldn't sweat it. Its a tiny amount of sugar, laced with some fennel and ginger extract, and some baking soda to soothe tummies.
eta: when I asked my ped about it, he says in a grandpa voice "sure, throw your money away, what good old fashioned chamomile isn't good enough for you?"
so I took that as an okay ... my ped is always trying to save us money for some reason

Did you try a pacifier? They should nap every two hours during the day.

hey Andrea When Angelina was cranky (she had some poop/tummy problems) i would make her chamomile tea and steep in some fennel seed. Did you end up going to Dr Mehrgut? he is cool with it. Also if shes having trouble pooping he rec. this stuff to put in her bottle called Fletchers. If you need it I have almost a full bottle here. Hope Olivia feels better!

Re: 10 week old not napping. Need advice.
I actually just asked my Dr. about this today - DS naps for 20 minutes at a time some days - he seems so overtired! Dr. said a 20 min nap to an infant is like an hour to us. Sometimes that is all they need. If they are sleeping at night, it is nothing to worry about...though it is definitely frustrating!
