When is it acceptable to have your bra straps show
when at work?
on purpose because you are wearing a spaghetti strap shirt.

why has no one said anything to her?
She works for all men. They don't seem to mind. I think they are scared if they say something to her she will sue for sexual harassment.

That's terrible! Bra straps look tacky in any setting but especially in a workplace! Shame on her!

oh yes, my friend.
Yesterday she was in a plunging summer dress. She actually came in late because she had to get her hair blown out. She came in at 12.
Today she came in 30 mins late. She stayed overnight in the city.
Bra straps..spaghetti strap shirt..

Yeah, I had someone walking around in a low back strapless dress yesterday. It's really none of my business, if their bosses don't say anything, but in my mind I am handing out sweaters to people!

I would never wear jeans to work unless I was doing something physical like moving offices or something.

This is a corporate atmosphere. Another co-worker was in jeans.
I've never seen that in my firm in 6 years. Not even on Friday. We are not in the HQ building anymore but that's just taking casual Fridays to a whole new level. And, we don't have casual Fridays. We are a biz casual place. Biz casual meaning no ties. In the HQ building it's dress for business. In fact the executive floor men have to wear jackets.
My floor is developers and programmers. My boss is the CIO and we work on the same floor. She's a cool woman but if she saw this she might not be.
More so the bra showing thing is just so out there. I don't think it's ever acceptable. That's your freakin underwear.

I work as a construction project manager, with all MEN, on construction sites, plus in a corporate office. Wearing a strapless is annoying all day long, for me anyways. But I do try too match, black sleeveless blouse with black bra, tan, white, etc..or I add a tank as well. I just hate strapless when I am working. At least she should try and conceal it, but strap happens...

She shouldn't have been wearing a shirt that she couldn't wear a regular bra with. The bra straps were out there clearly visible. There was no debating that she knew they would stick out.
She has another dress she wears without a bra and asks me to tighten the ties in back so she has support. That one is denim.
These are just examples of clothes that are not work appropriate in her role working for an investment bank.
I still don't understand why no one says anything to her.
I may go to HR about it.
