Transitioning to sippy questions...
So Riley has taken to sippy cups pretty well...she drinks water from them.
Now that she's moved on to milk, I'm wondering if I can just give up the bottles altogether.
Are bottles still necessary this early in the game? Did anyone completely abandon the bottle that fast?

A lot of people do this.
I tried to give him milk from the sippy the first time and he wouldn't take it. I wound up having to mix formula with milk for the transition instead. He also was not the greatest with the sippy at the time. Now he is great with the sippy and I plan on getting rid of the bottles (one at a time) by the end of the summer.

Ive, what sippy wound up working for Liam? I bought some of the no spill ones, but it's like Will doesn't get that he has to suck on them since the others just flow.

How old is she?
ETA: regardless of how old she is, you can try giving her formula out of a sippy. It usually takes kids awhile to adjust to that since they are used to (and comforted) by the bottles

Once we saw that DS would take milk from a sippy cup we ditched the bottles. He wasn't particularly attached to them. We got rid of the morning one last and he did fine, never demanded it or anything.

Some people lose the bottles now but I wasn't in a rush to abandon Emerson's bottles. I just didn't really care that much that she was still on them. At about 15 months I got rid of them cold turkey. To get her to drink milk from a sippy I added a little Hershey Lite Syrup for the first 3-4 days and then I stopped. It worked great!
Just be aware Tara, when you drop the bottles and go exclusively to sippy cups their milk consumption is going to go WAAAAAYYYY down. They won't chug a sippy the way they chug a bottle. Emerson just sips her milk throughout meals the same way you or I would drink. Just make sure she's getting enough milk elsewhere...........cheese, yogurt, milk in her cereal, etc.

She had her first mostly milk bottle today. She did well...but spit up which she hasn't done in FOREVER!

We got the Munchkin ones with the straw. But the one with the straw that is on an angle. I just kept giving them to him and how he drinks out of them really well.
I found them at BRU and Target.

As you know Samantha decided on her own she was done with the bottle at 13 months. She took her bedtime bottle and then fhe next morning wanted nothing to do with it. She went right to the sippy.
See how it goes. Maybe try eliminating one bottle and replacing it with a sippy and take it from there.
ETA: we use the same sippy as Liam. After many sippies this was the one she took to.

Totally doable! DS was off the bottle at 8 1/2 months and DD is already on sippy cups only (filled with BM) and she's 9 months now.

We put milk in a sippy at Jack's 1st birthday party and that was it. He never looked back and his milk consumption did not go down. He transitioned easily to 3 8oz cups a day.
