Need help and brainstorming!!!
2 tickets were bought for a flight by a husband and wife. Credit card is in his name. Now husband can't go on flight. Can his ticket be transfered to another person that can take that flight? Does it matter the card that pays for it? (They have someone who wants to go on the trip with the wife now.)
It is domestic flight on Delta in a few weeks, if that matters.

I did this a couple years ago with my sister- I think they just charged us a $50 fee to change the name on the ticket

the fine print on the ticket reservation should say if its transferable or not. if it is transferable you may just be charged a fee, if not you can get a credit to the airline. the credit card it was charged to shouldn't matter.
(i book flights for my office so i deal w. this a lot)

Dang it! Just found out they booked through Hotwire. Would this matter?
I am looking at their email confirmation and see nothing about transferable or not.

Re: Need help and brainstorming!!!
You need to contact their customer service and find out.
Many times internet fares are non-transferable, and it depends on the airline and the booking agent you used.
This happened to a GF of mine where tkts for her HM were bought, they cancelled he wedding, and she tried to transfer her now ex-FH's ticket to a friend, and the airline refused because it was bought on a discount and the fare was non-transferable.
He wound up going on the vacation with her anyway. (Insert w t f face here)
