Hair extensions
My hair is so super thin and flat and so im CONSIDERING getting hair extensions put in. Nott really to make my hair longer, but to make it fuller.
Does anyone know if this is possible and does anyone have a rec on a salon?
THANKS

Re: Hair extensions
I had extensions glued in for my wedding--nightmare lol
They are totally possible but make sure they are weaved or sewn in.
The thing is even sewn or weaved--it damages your hair.
When I glued them I had a bad reaction (great luck lol) and lost a lot of hair--it was not the end of the world I just chopped my hair short.
Clip in's made from real hair are probably the best option, least damage

Re: Hair extensions
i bought a 'row' of hair from center island beauty supply (commack) and my hair stylist is cutting the hair and sewing it onto clips for me.
im wearing them for my wedding but i will be able to take then out for the honeymoon and wear them again.
i think you should consider the clips! it will be less damaging, especially if your hair is thin to begin with!

Re: Hair extensions
Maximus Hair Salon in Merrick, and ask for Christine. She does the extensions that last a good 6 months.
I never tried b/c my hair is way to thin & fine & damaged. So she was honest and said it wouldn't be best for me. You could always go in and ask her and she will tell you the truth.

What I did for my wedidng was ordered real hair extensions that were clip-ins. I bought them from the hairdresser who did my hair for my wedding, they have every color possible so it matches perfectly...I bought blonde highlighted ones.
I am actually getting them put in for a wedding tomorrow.

I second this. my mom wore three clip-in "extensions" (custom made by hairdresser) for added fullness for my wedding and it looked totally natural and was easy to take out. I think she has used them again for other special events when she has gotten her hair professionally done

Re: Hair extensions
I had them once when I was a MOH in my best friends wedding. They did a good job...color matched perfectly and the actual hair used looked like my own. That said mine were VERY long so it obvious that it wasn't my own hair. I did have it cut shorter after the wedding but I never felt like my head was clean. You can't scrub your scalp like you normally would while washing. It's something that I would never do again...not worth it IMO.
