Congratulations! Wishing you many happy years in your new home!!!
We also brought out of a nasty divorce BUT the couple was in the same room and made horrible comments to each other the whole time. They were nasty to us as well. The last comment the husband said to us was "Get that house blessed, it needs it" 
Funny you should say that because DH and I were going back and forth about how much we wanted to invest in carpeting and painting. I told him that the house had bad karma and i don't want it to look ANYTHING like it did before in regard to paint and carpet. Maybe I'll have a Rabbi come over and bless it.
Hmmm Evnme is a cantor/vendor - I can certainly ask her!!!!

yes, i'm a Cantor, but i'm not a LIF vendor.
you can have a small ceremony or just hang a home blessing a "birkat ha-bayit"

we bought from a divorce and had the same mindset, didn't want anything the same..we also hung a birkat habayet at the door and upstairs...you can't have too many blessings..
