I (and the tech) first counted them during a sonogram ....then yes, when he was born we did.

I counted them on the sono too - how funny! And I didn't even think to when he was born - I just asked the nurse and DH (had a c/s) if he was OK.

At the time of the delivery - it didn't even cross my mind - I just wanted to hold and kiss her - but after i took a peek

Nope. I had an emergency c-section so I didn't see him for a while after he was born. I just heard him crying and make sure he was healthy.

Nope I jsutwanted to hold her and make sure she was ok and once I was in my room and they allowed her to stay in my room with me then I did all the checking

I thought about it after we brought her home. Then I thought, damn... Did we check? It's so busy and such a great expierence that we forgot. I figure the Dr. will check for you. They won't let you leave L&D without you knowing somethig's wrong with your little one!
