Show me your DC's first pair of walking shoes! (and question...)
I want to get DD her first pair of walking shoes (she's 10 months)... she's cruising like crazy and is always barefoot. I know it's good for them to be barefoot but when we go out I want her to have shoes on soon.
Is it too early? When did you get the first pair? And show me what you got!

ETA: this was only when we went out and they wanted to cruise/walk in public....at home it was always barefoot

I'd wait til she walks. And even then, you really only need them outside
Barefoot is best
Oh and DS has never owned Stride Rites, best thing is to go get her foot measured and see what fits her best!

I bought DD these from Stride Rite:
She was walking entirely across a room by herself before I purchased shoes. Stride Rite actually asked how far she could go unassisted before fitting her.

We just bought Pedipeds for our DD, Olivia (the model name is OLIVIA too  . LOVE LOVE them. She's barefoot at home, but when we are out / outside that's what she wears. I got them off eBay- vendor is homeandgardenexperience. Cheapest there, free shipping and everywhere else this one was sold out Image Attachment(s):

ditto!! I'm a HUGE stride rite fan. Def go to the outlets. They always have something for around $15 a pair.

I would definitely look into those. That's what I would choose for your DD at this stage and season. Something with soft leather soles yet comfy for the weather.
DD wore Robeez until she was a pro at walking, then we got her Stride Rites. She started walking unassisted steps at 11 months and got her Stride Rites at 14 months.

He was about 8 months - I got him stride rite shoes for 'pre walkers'
I guess they're the brown boy's version of that pink shoe posted

Awesome, thanks for the recs! She is always barefoot at home, I guess i'll stick with the soft shoes/sandals I have now for when we go out and wait until she walks unassisted (which I think will be SOON!!).

We took our DD to Stride Rite for her first pair of walking shoes. They are so well made, so comfortable for her, and adorable! We got her a new pair of sneakers and sandals just recently.
