OMG I am the worst mom EVER - Please no flames - advice...
I turned my back for a split second and my 11.5 month old DD made her way to the dog food that was out and ATE a tiny bit. Less than a teaspoon or half that but still  I tried to fish some out of her mouth, but I know she swallowed a bit. It was Whole Foods brand canned food for what it's worth. Do I need to call the Ped for this??? UGH I feel awful

awwww, thats no big deal. No I'm sure she will be fine. I would only call if you wanna ease your mind, but I wouldnt if it were me. Dont be so hard on yourself

No flames...I hardly think this qualifies you for the worst mom award. 
IMO, no need to call the ped. It is food even if we don't like eat it normally.
My DD once ate some dry cat food. DH pointed out that at least she'd have a nice shiny coat. And she didn't get sick.

You're NOT a bad mom and she's going to be totally fine. I know lots of pple who have tried their dog food. Well, obviously they were young babies.
BTW... I ate Play-Doh when I was younger b/c I loved the smell. I made a play-doh hamburger and ate it. I trnd ut jus fineee 
Kidding!! Mason has gone for the dog food too. I caught him b4 he got there, but I've turned my back on my 12 month old b4 and worse things have happened. Nothing too insane. Wish we had eyes in the back of our head, but we don't (unless you're a teacher)

Umm, that's really not a biggie....don't stress yourself
My friend's son (11 months) has eaten cat food several times out of the food bowl
ETA: And definitely don't call the PED because of this

Stop! It happens, you are not a bad mom, it's only dog food and I would not call the ped, she will be fine. Think of it as a good story to tell ger when she is older

Ugh. Thank you all. I feel much better. The DOG doesn't even eat the damn food. I haven't even wanted to introduce meat and now I've gone and introduced meat and god knows what else.

My oldest once nibbled on some dry cat food and while she did go through a phase where she like to meow I don't think the two incidences were connected.

You are DEFINATELY not a bad mom b/c of this. IMO it doesn't even deserve a what was I thinking. Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure she'll be fine.
If it makes you feel better my friends son ate goose poop that one of her older kids must have brought in on their shoe :gross: he was fine!

Whole Foods brand dog food is more than likely about 150% more nutritious than MOST of what I eat.

They baby will be fine. Mine used to eat it at my mom's house. I used to FLIP out about it because it's gross.. and I remember mentioning it to my ped in pure convo and when I told my Ped about it, she actually laughed and said "have you ever looked at the ingredients?" it's actually loaded with nutrients! YUCK lmao

My DH used to watch DS during the day, on more than one occasion I would get a text saying "Christopher and Maggie are eating dog food" or "They found the milk bones again"

I wouldn't worry at all!! You're not the worst mom - they are gonna get into something no matter what we do and I think if the worst is a little dog food, you're doing great.
BTW -  but when I was a kid, I know I ate a few dog biscuits with no ill effects - that's what you get for letting grandpa babysit!!

No need to call the ped !! It's food, not poison !! Is it organiz? No, but it's not going to hurt her -
And you are NOT the worst Mom ever -you have a NORMAL kid who stuck her hands in the dog's dish - My son goes for the dog's food ALL the time. He got to it once, he lived to tell about it - I almost gagged, but he was fine.

My mom still tell the stories of how I ate dog food as a child and my 2 year old ds will still go after it. Luckily my dog is a pig and eats it all in one swooping motion. It happens

The only one you need to apologize to is the dog... he's getting gypped!
Both DC have had dog food. Our dog eats whenever he wants all day, so there is always food out. Of course, it has to be on the floor. There's no way to let the dog eat, and keep the kids away, so it happens once in a while.
They don't do it anymore, though.... now they know how to get into the cabinets and fridge...

I wouldn't worry. If anything, its food. If tomorrow she seems out of it and not eating/pooping/peeing, then maybe call the dr.
