newborn crying out in sleep- am I doing this right?
My DS is 6 weeks old.
When he naps (during the day, not at night) he often cries out in his sleep, sometimes softly, sometimes harder, and never for a longer than 2 minute duration.
By the time I go up to get him, he stops. His eyes are closed the entire time- can see on the monitor.
Anyone else's baby do this? I am not sure if I should pick him up or not. He does this even if it is not time for him to eat yet!

yes my dd did that. We asked the dr and he said it was perfectly normal - she is fine. He called it the "stolen milk" dreams! lol.

If they cried for longer than 1 minute or so I would go in and soothe them say shhhh, rub their heads etc.

Did they stay asleep when you did this? Whenever DH and I have done that- he wakes up and then seems really unhappy.
