3-hr glucose UGH not good

Kinda long, I know....

I went to take my 3 hour glucose test yesterday. I had only failed the 1 hour by like 4 points so the doc told me I should just take the 3 hour and I should do fine. With my first one, I felt completly fine. Now witht the 3 hour....

My appointment was for 7 and they only took me in at 8 (I was starving already). I could barely get the drink down but managed. Felt nauseaous instantly. I mean, yawning would make me gag. Not good. I took the first blood sample and was into the next half hour when it just became unbearable! My head and neck became tingly as if I was going to pass out. They let me put cold water on my face and it made me feel better. Then, 15 minutes later, same thing. I just wanted to throw up and forget about it at this point but then they'd make me come back again. They told me to lay down in the back room for the last hour and a half. And, I made it through. Can I tell you, I was burping up that drink ALL DAY! And today, my stomach is not feeling good at all.

Mind you, my little princess has been up since that drink, I think playing the wii or something in there and she just won't go to sleep.

So thank you doc, I hope you're happy. Hopefully I can get the results today and I'm just praying that I passed somehow

Update: Just got the call today that everything came back normal! Soooo excited that everything is ok

Oh man, I just went on Tues for mine and I agree it was painful.

My 1-hour # was HIGH and I still passed the 3-hour so good luck to you and I am sure you passed and all was worth it

ugh sounds like a pretty crappy morning...i wouldn't get your hopes up though...usually takes at least 2 days for the results to come in (trust me i called EVERY day to get mine)

Ughh you poor thing. I am having flashback feelings of my 3 hour test.

Getting the drink down in 5 minutes & having it stay down for 3 hours was bad.

I wanted to throw up at the 2nd swallow

Ughh its terrible - I'm convinced its all to make $$. So many women are failing the 1 hour test, & are having to go in & take the 3 hour & end up passing.
