Talk to me about swingsets.....

I've so been dreading this LOL.

But, my kids spend an obscene amount of time in our tiny yard and the big wheels aren't cutting it.

Because my yard is so small, I can't have anything huge. At the same time, I don't want something they'll outgrow in a year.

It looks nice but honestly, I can't spend a fortune.

Any reco's or any advice?????

My sister has a swingset from Creative Playthings. The swingset is amazing. Not too overwhelming in the yard. But, it was no cheap investment.

My inlaws bought Ryan a swingset from Walmart fora whopping $100. While it is a "no frills" swingset he loves it. I say check out walmart/target or wait until the end of the season and see if they throw any sales out there.

We bought a kit at Lowes and DH bought all of the lumbar separately and built it. The entire thing really wasn't very expensive and we have a nice swingset/playset for DS

I bought a step two with just one swing and a slide, and a little clubhouse under the slide. I dont think they make it anymore though, I found it on craigslist.
My dd, 3, spends HOURS on it.

BJs and Costco have some nice one a bit more affordable.

I have heard mixed review about Walmart swingset. Cheaper wood that won't last as long is one of the complaint. But it's significantly cheaper.

No real advice but I have a huge one similar to the ones you posted. I think like the Olympian except the configuration is slightly different and we have green not yellow. The kids love it. It takes up a big portion of our yard but it gets use pretty much year round. Even sliding into snow piles. I love that you can play with the configuration there to suit your yard. It is super strong and a fortune but we feel safe and feels like it supports both DH and myself when we climb with the kids.

There's one in Costco we've always looked at - it's about $999. We have the same issue - smaller sized yard because of the deck. So we've never moved on it.

There have been a few great offers, some for FREE!

I mean if you got a handy DH, it helps.

We *almost* got a nice one for $75. Lost it to a person before us.


ETA: if we dont find one soon, Toyrus or Walmart has some decent wood ones, for under $500

Check out craigslist!! We bought one for $300 and it goes for $1200 new!

We have plastic not wood because we have a lot of wood bees in our area. I didnt want them bothering the kids. Otherwise I love wood:)
