BTDT moms...how long before you were back in pre-maternity clothes?
The heat yesterday made me think of this.
I have avoided buying any kind of summer-ish pants because I was due on Monday. I figured I'd rather get capris that are a size too big or something than buy any more maternity clothes!
So how long did it take you to get back to your pre-maternity size? Or at least to the point where you could wear normal pants again without feeling uncomfortable. Would you recommend buying maternity clothes anyway?

3 mos PP in regular clothes 1-2 sizes bigger.
16 months PP close to pre-preg size but no where near the same shape body.

I know that's not the norm though.

I wore maternity clothes for about 6 weeks and then gave in and bought clothes in a larger size.

I was back in my regular clothes right away, jeans in about 2 wks because I had a c-section and didn't want to aggrevate my incision.
(I only gained 15lbs. the whole pregnancy though).

I can't remember exactly. I want to say 3 months? But I was EBF and that shed pounds like crazy for me.

About 2 months PP, I went out and bought what I call "transitional pants"...which were not maternity, but a size or 2 bigger than all of my pre preg clothes.
I was back in my old clothes about 5 or 6 months PP.

About 4 weeks I was back in my jeans and tops. I really didn't try before that though as sweats were just more comfortable since I tore pretty bad and was still sore for a while.
I had gained 50 lbs. but lost about 40 lbs by 4 weeks.

I was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes 2 weeks after having my DS. I EBF and used the belly bandit which I think helped

Gosh it was long ago lol. I want to say it was about 3-4 months because I could get into my jeans again. I wore maternity for a while then broke down and got one size bigger. They fit great but I made sure not to let myself stay at that size.
I am hoping sooner for this pregnant since I haven't gain no where near as much as I did for my first.

I wouldn't buy more maternity clothes. Just see how your body responds. For me, I was able to wear pre-pregnancy jeans about a week after DD was born. Keep in mind I gained the recommended amount of weight. And my jeans are below my belly, so the butt and thighs were fine. I was also BFing, so that helped too.
In your case, I would wait until after the baby arrives. See how things go.

I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans in about a week or two (I had GD so I only gained 13lbs). A lot of my tops are a little snug bc of my boobs though.

I gained 40 lbs with DS, but was only able to lose 25 of them, so I bought all new clothes after he was born (right before I went back to work).
I gained 20 lbs with DD, and lost it almost right away (within 3 weeks) but my clothes only recently started fitting again, I think my hips spread a lot and are just now coming back together 10 weeks PP. I still have a muffin top but I'm starting to lose more weight now.

I hate to sound uneducated; but what does EBF stand for? Just curious b/c I'd like to lose as much weight as quickly as possible too!! Thanks!

I stayed in maternity clothes for about a week. A few pairs of jeans that were big on me fit about a month PP. I had to buy a few items a size or two larger because I wear form fitting clothes when not pregnant. About four months PP I was back in all my pre-pregnancy clothes and had lost all the weight. However my shape was different and it took close to a year before I felt like me again. ETA: I gained 40 pounds with DD#1.

I think EBF stands for exclusively breastfeeding? It's not in the chat lingo list.
