This is probably the most ridiculous question ever but here goes:
Do you train a boy to Pee sitting down or standing up?

I asked that question awhile back and most responded that they taught DS sitting and standing came later.
Right now I am not potty training but DS does go on the potty and he sits

Not ridiculous at all. I asked it also--DS uses a potty and sits down. Teaching them to aim etc. is a little hard at their age I think. Unless DS shows an interest in standing--if so, you can always give it a try!

Also, if they start out sitting down, you don't have to worry about #1 or #2... otherwise, they might *think* they have to go #1, so they stand, then go #2.... I think it's easier to start out sitting, then progress to standing later.

I have a DD but was recently talking about this with friends who have DS's. The discussion pretty much concluded that learning to use the potty (while sitting) is a milestone, while learning to do it standing is a skill that comes (much) later.

Re: Just thinking about potty training...not starting yet...but i have a ?
DS wanted to go like daddy and his big cousins so he sort of self taught to go standing up. He was "pee pee" trained for a few months before he would go "stinkies" on the potty though. Now that he is fully trained, he knows when he gets the feeling and will sit when he needs to and stand otherwise.
