I cannot BELIEVE the policy of that dentist! It's completely INSANE!
I am so upset for you that I feel like calling them and freaking out!
I hope you find a new dentist soon and that you have a better day today.

Ok, about the $550, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that's insane. My husband, on the other hand, was like, well, that's the deal oh well! And if you're late, for every half hour you're late, they charge you $75. I mean, I get it that there are people out there that screw them over, but I freaking called and was EIGHT minutes late! EIGHT MINUTES!
Had I been the one to be with Ava for the first visit adn had I seen that policy, I would have walked out. No, instead it was my husband who was there and signed the paper and was FREAKING out on the side of the road today that we HAD to get there on time
Crappy dentist...RUN!!!
How much do they pay you when they run late?

OMG! I am so sorry you went though that!! That is horrible!!!
I am so pi$$ed for you!! If there is any way, I hope you will tell them where to shove it and find another dentist. That is just awful!!!

Where was the dentist when all of this was happening? I would write a very detailed letter to his office, and find a new pediatric dentist ASAP!!

OMG that is a horrible story. I hope you are feeling better today. I would not go back there.
I'll FM you our ped dentist - hopefully it's not that place.  I know it's a pain to change everything with insurance or get a referral, but I woudl try somewhere new. We've gone to this place 2ce and I'm taking my DS there this week too.

Just one of those things would qualify as a bad day - I'm sorry sweetie!
I would absolutely find a new dentist, and write a letter giving them a piece of my mind.
And, if you are OK with it, one glass of red wine was OK'd by my OB for every once in a while, and this day seems to call for it!

I just want to thank you all again for the support and also for all the recommendations for other dentists. This was a huge practice with tons of dentists, one of those impersonal places where you're basically just a number. I am not going to go back ever and am spending my day finding a new dentist for Ava.
I'm doing ok today, very sore and achey, but ok. The baby has been active, which is all I really care about. And what kills me the most is that my poor daughter keeps apologizing to me for what happened yesterday. I keep telling her it's not her fault, but she doesn't get it. She thinks everything happened because she was screaming
Ugg. Being a mom can be so hard sometimes

I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience at the dentist. I cannot believe how rude they were to you. The cancellation and late charges are ridiculous. That alone would probably make me question the practice and the treatment you received would absolutely seal my decision to switch practices.
