The whole job would have been 4-days total but this damn rain is killing me... LOL

Providing it gets nice out this week we hope to be done by the end of the week -

Nice combo of colors. Can't wait to see it finished and dry. Chat Icon We will be using Nicolock when Fernando does our job. It's what we already have in the small back patio.Chat Icon

Re: Fernando - Work in Progress

just curious if fernando himself was on your job site. We hired him last summer to do our patio. We saw him the first 5 minutes of the job and then never again. It seems he farmed us out to his friend's company without letting us know.

That is one reason I did not hire him to be honest. He was also going to sub out the driveway work and I was more comfortable hiring a company that did everything themselves.

As far as I knew, I thought that his crew worked for him. But I could be wrong. Chat Icon He was not on our job 100% of the time either, but he was there to make sure everything was done right. Either way, the work was great for us.

Don't get me wrong Jen at all, the man knows what he is doing and I am very impressed with his work or his workers work. IMO, I just felt more comfy having a company that did it all so if there was a problem, I dealt with one person and not sub-contractors.

Re: Fernando - Work in Progress

Chris, you made great choices, I love that dark gray border going through the whole patio. It really defines the space and makes a nice contrast with the other colors! Gorgeous!

I'm not sure about anyone else but the first couple of days of our installation, we were on vacation. When we came home, DH was working from home and dealt only with Fernando so I know he was there every day.

I understand being unsure about something like that. I kept his crew in business with drinks and food, and they were all very nice and hardworking guys. It wouldn't deter me from hiring them again. Chat Icon

Fernando has been there everyday - and for most of the day - I only know this because my Mother watches my daughter at my house so she sees him...

I will add he has left for short periods of time - I know he left to dump the trunk a few times and once to pick up more brick.... I know of Saturday he was there from 730am till 4pm working....

When we had our small patio done 2 years ago, Fernando was back and forth all day getting supplies and getting lunch for all of them. Chat Icon He def. knows how to do the work and with the large job that we are having done, I expect him to be there a lot of the time. But I will check with him on that first. Either way, I still would use him again. Chat Icon

Looks great! The cambridge toffee onyx is on my short list of colors.

Thats my concern as well. He was very nice, and gave us a great price. I'm confident he would do a great job on the paver work. But he doesn't do the asphalt himself - so I have no reference to know that the driveway will get done right.

We haven't decided yet (meeting one more contractor tonight) but I think we'll wind up going with a company that does the pavers & asphalt in house.

Christine, Fernando & his crew did a great job. It's gorgeous. Love all the curves and the planter box too. And the steps are great. I like the shape of them. Enjoy!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
