More expensive to remove trees in Nassau than Suffolk?
Anyone heard of this. I have 2 trees that need to be removed. I swear these trees are cursed too b/c of the amount of problems we've had to remove them....I won't even go there.
Anyway, we were all set - got a great quote from a guy out in Suffolk when he calls after the storm to say he can't do it b/c he's not licensed in Nassau and doesn't want to get in trouble. As I'm calling around to places who do tree removal in Nassau, I find that everyone is DOUBLE what the Suffolk guy quoted me. I call the Suffolk guy back and he tells me its less expensive to remove trees in Suffolk than Nassau. Seriously? Has anyone heard of this? Anyone have any ideas why?

Wow. Never heard that before but if I had to venture a guess maybe it would be b/c for the most part the homes are closer together in Nassau than Suffolk so there's more of a risk in damaging numerous people's personal property?
When we removed our tree last year I know they took their time with it and cut it down in very small sections carefully b/c of its proximity to our upstairs window and our surrounding neighbors fences.
Totally a guess though. Interesting. I'd love to know the real reason.

Aww V, I am so sorry Rich didn't work out. He said they are really cracking down on cutting them w/out a license since the storms.
