my DC just fell off the couch!
i am freaking out over here and wondering if i should bring my DC to the hospital! she is 9 months old and just tumbled off the couch. i think she did a summersalt off the couch and onto the floor. the side of her head is red.
she only cried for a few seconds and is now playing. what should i do! are there any tests i can do to make sure she is ok? i dont want her to have a brain injury!

If she is acting fine I would just call the ped to make sure.

Place a call to your ped like the poster above mentioned. More likely than not your DC is fine. My DD fell off our bed at 10 months old and the first thing the Ped asked was whether she cried right away. If she did then that is a good thing- they worry if the baby is quiet when he/shae falls because it could mean they lost consciousness. Things to watch out for are lethargy/vomiting or acting strangely.

i just called. they said if she isnt vomiting or losing concisousness, she should be ok. omgosh. i cant believe this happenend. she cried for about 10 seconds or so and then it stopped.

No she sounds perfectly fine. My DD was the same way. I think its more traumatic for the moms than the babies.

If she's fine I'd try not to worry. Call the ped if it'll make you feel better but I'm sure they'll say she's fine too. DS has taken more spills than I care to share and I honestly think they are worse on me than on him.

She sounds fine ....My son feel off the bed at like 6 months old onto a hardwood floor...scared the crap out of me..HE even kinda rolled his eyes back...but he was and is now fine.
Its scary though

DS has fallen off the bed, couch, a stroller onto cement...he's fine!

i am so worried something happened to her. although she was fine all night i cant help but worry!
like now she has a brain injury or will become disabled or something! i think she might have fallen on her head - no joke!

some ice incase a black and blue is coming.
... i think it also depends how high the ccouch was and if they tumbled onto carpet or hardwood/ tile
