Christening without children?
My friend received an invitation to a christening recently but her son was not invited. Have you ever been to an 'adults only' christening?

Re: Christening without children?
no.... I wish!! lol We have 16 kids coming to ours all family! I'm always one for 'adult only parties' but I dont think a christening is really one of them.

Re: Christening without children?
never been....my MIL suggested we do it because we had a ton of kids...I told her she was nuts. To me, a christening is about a child so why would I leave me family's kids at home?

My MIL made no such suggestion but that aside I completely agree with this. Kids made up half of my DD's christening party. It was great!

I have never been to one. I always thought a Christening was a family event!

I always felt the same way re: it being a family event. I was curious though, just in case I was out of the loop or something.

Re: Christening without children?
Thats kind of any oxymoron in my opinion. A christening is a day about a child, so why wouldn't it be a family day? To each his own I suppose!

Re: Christening without children?
We had an adult only Christening. There are to many kids in the family and it would have been insane. We had 75 adults and if there were kids it would have been well over 100 people.....Nobody complained they actually enjoyed getting away from their kids.....
