Re: Swagging a light fixture
I did. I don't have any pics here. I can post them later. Personally I don't like the look, it reminds me of the 70's but I had to do it in order for the light to be centered over my table.
Where are you thinking about doing this?

Re: Swagging a light fixture
well our dining room light fixture isn't in the right spot - i don't know why the builders put it so close to a wall i'm not sure if you can tell in pictures but our chairs are up against the wall and our light fixture looks like it's on top of our mirror....when we use the table we actually pull it out into the room so that people can get in on the wall side...
it irritates the crap out of me to the point that i just moved the table over today - but now it's not centered under the light which drives me nuts - but the furniture looks so much nicer moved away from the wall and in the space i have...
i think we can have the light moved (my dad's friend is an electrician and i think he can do it for us) and i know that we can put a cover over the old hole for the time being (one of those circle caps) until we are ready to have the hole repaired - which i think would be headache b/c then we'd have to re-paint the entire ceiling i think...
or we can buy a new light fixture (my husband would KILL me ) with a chain and swag it...our current light has a pole which is why swagging it isn't an option...
i guess i am just curious to see a swagged light i guess i want to see if it could be an option, although i really like our light and i think it would be better to just move it over...

Re: Swagging a light fixture
We actually did it in our bathroom to get a light over the tub. I don't have a picture, but it was really easy to do. You just buy a special hook and drill a small whole where you need it. Push the hook in and it will lock in place. It would be a lot easier than moving all of the electric.
