What products are a must for the baby's changing table?
I've heard you should keep vaseline, balmex, butt paste...but thats pretty much all i know.
What products are a must? Also I heard about this special detergent Dreft you should use for the baby's clothes?

You don't need to use Dreft if you don't want. I love the smell but it's very expensive. We use All Free and Clear, it has no dys or perfumes.
As for the changing table, I keep all toiletries in the top drawer and nearby. That includes:
diapers
wipes
A&D
butt paste for redness
triple paste for bad rashes
vaseline/aquaphor for dry spots on face and body, also for minor scratches
nail clippers (we don't use files)
nasal aspirator
baby q-tips
infant tylenol
infant/children's motrin
benadryl
hair brush and comb

I have found to be most necessity
anything diaper changing related....wipes, diapers, A&D
change of clothes is a must! when your little one poops through his/her outfit it's great to have at least extra onesies handy.....
Mostly everything else can be kept somewhere else if you have to because you don't need to use it with a nudie coolie!

I also like to keep a mixture of bleach and water in a spray bottle to disinfect the area, especially after they make big #2 messes. Of course keep in on a high shelf away from the baby.

Also alcohol swabs for cleaning the rectal thermometer. And those changing table pad things the plain white ones you can just put under the baby on the changing table, or in the pack & play.

ITA! and wanted to add alcohol and cotton balls for the first few weeks for the umbilical cord!

i have, on both changing stations, wipes, diapers, qtips, aquafor (for night time diapering and for teething rashes), vaseline (for taking temps), desitin creamy (rarely use, only when there is a visibil rash), thermometer, comb, brush, clippers
never used dreft, i opted for all free and clear instead
eta: i big help in dealing with messy poops.. i have a dozen cloth diapers... i keep one between ds and the changing pad (even though it has a cover on it)... that way if poop ends up on it i can throw it in the wash instead of using disposible covers

most doctors actually do not recommend that you do anything for the umbilical cord.. they go by the leave it be mentality
