Washing Machines
How long do they usually last??? Ours is 7 years old. It's been fixed once (the belt broke or something like that) and it's out of commission again. It's making a lot of noise in the spin cycle and doesn't always spin properly. Should we invest in a new one or get this one fixed again??? Last time we fixed it (about 3 years ago) it cost about $200

Re: Washing Machines
7 years seems like a good amount of time for a washing machine to last
If you were going to get a new one do you have an idea of what you would want?
eta- because if you want one thats $800 lets say- it doesnt make sense to put $200 more into your old machine and have something else go wrong because of the age of it

Re: Washing Machines
I have read some formula that 7 years is an approx half life for washing machines and at that point it's not worth fixing.

Re: Washing Machines
Ok. Thanks for the info. Looks like we'll be washing machine shopping this weekend.
