I need to pick your knowledgeable brains...
Hey ladies...I have recently decided to become more proactive about TTC and I started reading TCOYF and temping. I am only three days into temping. The first two days-CD18 and 19-I had the same temp 98.3. Today at CD20 I got 97.7 My cycles average about 32 days. What could cause such a dip in temp? Could I be Oing? Is there not enough info to tell?
Thanks in advance!

Re: I need to pick your knowledgeable brains...
Can I ask why you started temping at CD15? It's going to be hard to see a temp shift if there's nothing to compare it to. You'll probably be better off paying attention to EWCM and using OPKs to detect O. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more!

Its hard to tell when you dont have the temps for the whole month. Temping is meant to be a picture of the overall month to determine shifts, so you really have to start from CD1.

i agree with the PP. you wont be able to tell if/when you O without having pre-O temp data.

Re: I need to pick your knowledgeable brains...
Thanks ladies
I only just started temping and that was where I was in my cycle. I figured even if I wasn't able to get any info from it because I didn't have a full cycle's worth of temps, it would at least get me in the habit of doing it and I could see where my temps are at. Can I assume that because the temps are in the 98's that I am post Oing? From what I read in TCOYF it seems that pre Oing temps are in 97 and post are in 98 and higher for most people. Is that the case for you?

Yes - my temps have usually been in the low 97's in the beginning of my cycle and then go up to 98

Not necessarily. My pre-O temps are in the 97.3-98 range, but that might not be the same for everyone. And individual temps can vary on a daily basis b/c of environmental conditions (an extra blanket, new flannel PJs, sleeping with the window open on a cold night). Just remember that individual temps mean nothing; it's the pattern that's important. Good luck!!
