Bathroom window question
* hit enter by accident!
We are planning our master bathroom renovation. Right now, there is a small window above the toilet in the middle of the bathroom. It's old and will need to be removed or replaced. We are making the bathroom about 5 feet longer and hopefully putting a double vanity where the toilet is now. I'd like two oval mirrors above the sinks and that would fill up the space where the current window is.
I'm worried about the lack of natural light if we take out the window. (DH - not so much but us women need natural light!)
We have two options; 1. put a skylight in - which would be expensive and more maintenance OR 2. install an non-opening indoor window on the far wall to let in light from the bedroom. (The bedroom has a huge window so we gets lots of natural light).
The end result would hopefully look like this photo (thanks JLDolphin!) but that window would look onto our bed.
WWYD?

Re: Bathroom window question
Look into a tubular skylight. They let in a TON of light, but are less intrusive and cheaper than a regular large skylight.

Looks like this from the roof
And this from the inside
What it looks like from roof, through attic to bathroom ceiling

Re: Bathroom window question
I would go with the no window and put that tube skylight in. They have done them on HGTV as well. Much cheaper.

Well, what do you know? I learn something new everyday here! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to show this to DH - he's going to like that the website says it can be installed in 3 hours. Maybe I'll get him to put in 2!
Thanks!
