If you have 2+ kids, does your older one over talk the younger one?

I feel like DS (oldest) is constantly talking about what ever and never really gives DD a chance. When she does talk he chimes in and then says something to upset her. She talks but she is quiet.
In the car it is none stop him talking. I will ask her a question and she won't answer me unless I give her the answer and she confirms him and then he starts again.

I feel bad for her, but I am guessing this is normal right? How do I get him to stop?

Sarah used to do that all the time. Andy really didn't start talking until we sent him to school and he was forced to talk for himself. I feel like that helped his confidence and he would start to speak up for himself at home rather than waiting for her to answer for him.

Now he talks over her all the time. Chat Icon

Can't help you b/c my oldest is 2.5 & she never stops talking, but DS is only 8 months so he's only mamama, dadada at this point. But he does screetch & when he does, she has to do it louder. He gets so mad at her.

I have three year old twins and this is a big issue with us because one twin talks for the other and it took us awhile to realize it. Now one of my twins is going to go to speech therapy group because he has a minor delay and the therapist thinks it's because his twin always talks for him so he does not know things he should know.

It was weird because when we took him to get reviewed, the teacher was asking questions like "when you are hungry you do what?" or "when you are tired you go to" and he could not respond and I really thought him and his brother knew that.

When I went home and asked his brother the same questions he knew and answered them. I realized then that it was an issue for us.
