I know it's the right decision, but i still feel a little sad about it

Not sure if anyone remembers my post from a few months ago re: a choice i had to make b/w a FT, more desireable position and a PT, (lets just say) not so desirable position.

The dept offering the FT position was in the middle of a restructure, so luckily i didnt have to rush to make a decision. Until this week. I officially accepted the position yesterday and will most likely be starting in the end of Feb.

It's a great position, much more $$$ than i'm making now PT, and it's the area that i've wanted to go into since i started Nursing. It IS ideal, but i still feel a little sad. These past few months of being PT have been great. Sure, im a complete zombie the day following the night that i work, and i've probably mistakenly stuck the binky in DD's ear more times than i care to admit But i really have loved being the one that's with her Everyday. It's been amazing.

I'm glad to be making more $. Eventhough we were fine with the amount we were putting away, and it was worth the sacrifice to me to have that time w/ DD, i still feel more comfortable now. Also, we'll have live-in child care and my schedule will be very flexible, so i could basically stop home whenever i wanted or needed to to see her, and most days will be much shorter than 8 hours out of the house, as opposed to now when im gone for at least 14 hours. Like i said, it IS ideal, but i still feel a little sad about it.

I don't know what the point of this post is- i guess i just wanted to vent a little bit? Or i was just in the mood for a rambling post If you've gotten this far, thanks

it will all work out. and it sounds like you will be very happy at the job.

I can understand why you're both happy and sad. You've been able to have time with your DD and that is invaluable and no one will ever take that away from you. I think it sounds like a great opportunity and I'm very happy for you. Everything will work out.

Kidding....J- It IS IDEAL. You know it is, don't second guess yourself. It's just different , that's all ....your going to LOVE this decision. It is a total win win.
