So funny, that is my facebook status today - that I am stuck in the house because DH forgot to install the carseat.
So, no obviously I have no clue. I have the Eddie Bauer carseat and it is HARD. The pros take like 1/2 an hour to get it in right.

Re: Do you know how to put in/take our your carseat?
Yep. I read that manual front to back and over and over again, and even watched some videos. I'm confident I know what I'm doing.
ETA: I don't do it often, but situations have arisen that warranted us to remove the car seat. I think it's really important to know the proper installation!

Re: Do you know how to put in/take our your carseat?
no, I dont. I never move it. she is 3.5 and Ive never had to move it. everyone that drives her around has their own car seat.
I really should know how to though.

Yes. I always get nervous though that I didn't make it tight enough.

Posted by luvsun27 To me...the instructions for the latch seemed easier than the seatbelt, so that's why I chose that method!
That's the primary purpose of the LATCH. It's not inherently any safer than the seatbelt (it's got a weight limit that everyone needs to be aware of, and you HAVE to switch to the seatbelt at a certain point), but it's much easier to use than the belts, so the odds of people using it correctly are much higher. It's the higher percentage of people using it correctly that makes it "safer" than the belts.

This. But even if you're using LATCH you still should read your manuals for the car and the seat.
Even if you think you have your seat in properly, you should still have it inspected by a CPST even once to ensure you did do it right. Your seat should not move more than 1" in any direction at the belt path.
That being said, I have put many seats in with many methods........
