verizon fios--tell me the deal you got.

our deal with cablevision is up next month. the bill will be going up about $60 a month! and i'm still annoyed about the loss of hgtv.

i really don't want to do it, but we're looking into verizon fios. if you've signed up fairly recently, what kind of deal did you get? were you able to get anything free thrown in?

Re: verizon fios--tell me the deal you got.

We signed up in September. The deal we had was 89.99 for 6 months with free DVR for 3 months and Free Cinemax/HBO for 3 months.

I also switched my cell phone over to Verizon and got an extra 10 off a month. Then after 6 months its I think 99 a month up to 2 years. But only a 1 year contract.

There is an activation/install fee if I remember correctly.

honestly I am overal happy with Fios, the install was so much easier than I thought. My only complaint is that I dont like the DVR as much as my TIVO but its comparable to the CBL DVR except with the multi room functionality which is nice.

I just read you better sign up right away... New prices are coming and they aren't going to be good this time around...

Re: verizon fios--tell me the deal you got.

We have all four services with Fios, so we get an additional $15 discount (taken off your internet - fastest speed they have for $10/month). We got the movie package and multi-room DVR free for three months. We also got two additional HD receivers for our other TVs. Turns out we weren't happy with the additional receivers and the way the multi-room worked, so we complained. They replaced the regular receivers with two HD DVRs which cost about $32/month total. We get $40/month credit to cover those two for one year. Then they gave us credit for one full month of the triple play ($135 I think). And we also got the $150 gift card. We signed up in Nov.

i know, it sounds too good to be true, probably is. so... i'll let you know what REALLY happens on the 18th. i am not cancelling cable just yet.
