Decorating issues!
Are there any "rules" on decorating?
I tend to use "dark and heavy". Like "too rich". KWIM?
How do I decorate without making the room heavy?
I don't kow how to pick decorating items to keep a room "airy" and "fresh".

Re: Decorating issues!
google just that. open rooms, airy rooms, clean line rooms, etc. you will get a bunch of pics that might help inspire you.
there are tons of rules, but its all personal taste. rules in this area don't always need to be followed
1 thing or area should be your focal point in your room, and then you go "light" (as in don't dominate over that item or area) and decorate based off that item or area
If that makes any sense

Re: Decorating issues!
It all comes down to your taste really. I'm sure there are rules, but it's your home and you should do what you want. What colors are you painting the rooms? What kind of style or theme do you want in the rooms? Comfy, casual, formal, etc.?
Take a look at magazines, decorpad.com, my album for Inspiring Decor Pics, so many place to look. Link to my album GL! Target, Home Goods & Kohl's are great places to buy decor. Don't go over board. Pick pieces you love for the room and don't get too much.
