if you HAD to have mismatched appliances...

i have to get an above the stove microwave... i have ivory (?) / beige stove now. i am not going to replace that right away. not sure if i want stainless (two kids) or black in the future.

if you had to deal with a beige stove for a few years, what would bother you less stainless and ivory or black and ivory.

black, right?

i am so clueless about this stuff. last house, we had the dough to replace all the appliances at once, this time, not even close.

When DH and I were buying appliances we were surprised by how much cheaper black appliances were.

The sales person said it is always cheaper--so for that reason I would probably go black.

I would think black, I think it would depend on what color you were going to do in the future.

I would go with black. This way, whatever you choose (stainless or black), you will probably be able to keep the microwave. We have all SS appliances, but the stovetop is black, as are the accepts on the other appliances. I think the black microwave would work with SS or black appliances in the future. Additionally, it will be less expensive now.

Black & ivory looks better than stainless & ivory & like Kara said, black will look fine of you get other stainless down
the road.

My parents have mixed colors & I actually like it, b/c it ties together. They have a hite fridge, a black & white oven/stove & and a black microwave & dishwasher.

We have all stainless, but our stove is all black. The frig and mircowave have black accents on them. So for us we feel it all goes together.

i would go black.... the thing with stainless is that EVERY brand has different stainless so you have to really stick to one particular brand (never noticed it until i replaced everything and the sales person pointed it out, they really do have noticable differences)....because of this i wouldnt buy something that would be in such close proximity to another stainless appliance in the future (if that makes sense)

I have something called Clean Steel by GE. It looks like stainless but does not fingerprint and it magnetic. Something to consider.
